About
Nelli The Seer is a game developed by first-year students at a video game school.
The team had 14 weeks to deliver a third-person action-adventure game set in a historical temple. Game Design and Level Design students started pre-production first, followed three weeks later by the Environment Artists, Animators, and Character Riggers. The programmers joined the project seven weeks after the Game Designers.
Game Design and Level Design students had seven weeks of pre-production, while the Environment Artists, Character Rigger and Animator teams had four.
Then, all teams worked together during the final seven weeks of production to complete the game.
The result is a platformer blended with a memory-based puzzle game, offering about 30 minutes of gameplay.
At the beginning of the 16th century, you play as Nelli, a young man from Tenochtitlan. Once a proud Aztec warrior, Nelli is granted the gift of foresight by Tezcatlipoca, the god of night and destiny. Upon discovering his new ability to see the future, he chooses to become a priest.
In his final vision, Nelli sees a grim fate awaiting his people : soldiers will invade the great city of Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec Empire. Determined to warn his people, he seeks an audience with Emperor Moctezuma II.
However, the emperor does not believe him, Nelli’s prophecy contradicts those of the high priests.
To prove his vision, Nelli ventures deep into the Templo Mayor.
His goal : to reassemble the Obsidian Mirror, a sacred relic of the Aztecs and the divine attribute of Tezcatlipoca.
Its fragments are scattered throughout the temple’s hidden chambers. Once the mirror is restored, Nelli hopes to convince the emperor of the truth.
• Use Nelli’s athletic abilities : jump, climb, and crouch to reach areas inaccessible to ordinary people.
• Activate mystical mechanisms : open ancient stone doors, move platforms, and create new paths through the temple.
• Collect the Feather Gem to gain the ability to glide. This power lets you reach normally unreachable zones and interact with objects while falling.
• Harness Nelli’s gift of foresight: lie down on vision altars to extend your view into the future. Reveal hidden spikes, avoid sudden traps, and spot disappearing platforms.
Remember trap patterns and safe paths to complete your quest and fulfill your destiny.

For a small students game, this one is really polished in my opinion. Graphics are good, animations are well made and the mechanics are quite interesting. Bringing back the "save by interacting" functionality is something i really appreciate. It's a good feeling to find some games that are made with the love of developing instead of a non respectable Deadline. Actually, even for a small game i find it really enjoyable to play and well finished unlike some triple A studios that i won't name. Of course there is still some room for improvement, like better fitted musics and maybe some speed changes of the character that i find a bit slow. In other words, for a chill session of gaming after a long day, this game is well suited. PS: Be careful of the spikes, they're quite vicious.

From the very first minutes, you can feel that this Aztec platformer goes beyond a simple school project. There’s a real intention behind it, a collective effort to create a complete and cohesive experience. The game design offers well-thought-out mechanics, intelligently integrated with the theme. Every element has its place, and together they create a good rhythm for the game. You can tell that the team didn’t just stack ideas, they took the time to make them work together. On the development side, there’s nothing to criticize. The 3C’s are very clean: the character responds well, the controls are precise, and the camera is efficient. The gameplay is smooth, engaging, stable, and easy to pick up. Even the UI is well-designed: clear, readable, functional, and integrated without breaking the flow. The attention to technical details — collisions, timings, feedback — shows a true understanding of the fundamentals. Visually, the art direction is very polished. The Aztec theme is well utilized, and the graphic choices serve the game at every moment. The GPE (game production elements) did a clean job: a coherent art direction, readable animations, and a real atmosphere that fits the universe. Nothing overpowers, nothing betrays the tone of the game. Thanks to the goattts who made the game
Très bon jeu, bien optimisé pour un premier gros gros projet, les déplacement sont agréable et la difficulté est maîtrisé. Vraiment félicitation pour le travail.
