This is a cheesy game that even kids would find too easy. Really this is one of those things that ships alongside a "gamemaker" program to show what you can make with it. This isn't really meant as a standalone game I don't think. Even still, the fun factor here makes this worth $.49 at best not the laughable $4.49 they're asking.
I love this game! If you liked Defender, then you should like Necromonads as well, since it's about as close as you can get without being an exact clone. This just brings back all sorts of fun fuzzy memories, a nice relaxing simple side-shooter... I wish we could get more like this.

Necromonads was a fun game that reminded me of the classic days of the video game industry. Keep making more games like this! ;)
It looks like this was made with Clickteam's Fusion tool set, which has a history that's decades old. We used to make games as a hobby, and very often, like the rest of the industry, they were variations on a theme. Here's a variation of Defender where you have to save half the population from being turned into zombies. Like most of the games from this tool set, many of them are fun to explore for a while, but then you're done with it. I enjoyed the hour I spent on this game.
Not an amazing game, plays a lot like Defender. For the cost, it is a very good deal; especially on sale. If you like SHMUPS, this is a good game to add to your lacking Steam SHMUP collection. It has very nice visuals, simplistic but very nice and a grand tribute to retro games, and the gameplay is very simplistic which is perfect for this genre sometimes. Definitely worth a buy for fans of Defender or the SHMUP genre.
Playtime: 4 minutes You're a ship that is fast but not very agile. Aliens come from the top of the screen and try to get to the bottom to kidnap people. You have to shoot them three times each. A single shot kills your ship. You have three lives. That's the entire game. Seriously, i played more interesting games on the Atari 2600 back in the 80s. 1/10
