Join private investigator Jack Pepper on a guns blazing, jazz-fueled adventure in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. MOUSE combines the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation inspired by the classic cartoons of the 1930’s with the adrenaline and action of an explosive first person shooter.

Art style is cool, some good gags, lots of fun stuff and some nice voice acting. Those are the positives. I enjoyed some of this game, but it's really badly designed overall. Much of the game was far too easy, but at some points the difficulty spikes suddenly, rarely in a fun way. Almost finished it but the last section is really dreadful. Jumping between planes and if you miss you fall and are back to start of sequence, with white enemies that blend into the white sky. Brilliant. Then the stupid laser arena. I'm sure I could finish it given perseverance but it's just no fun by this point. The charm kept me going far beyond any enjoyment here. Kept getting stutters when changing weapons which is quite ridiculous for a game where all mobs are simple sprites like original doom etc. It shouldn't be taxing my system like its a modern Crysis! There are many weapons but hardly any reason to use most of them. The ones you get later are terrible, you try em once, shrug, and never use them. The artists behind this game should have hired a veteran shooter designer for the mechanics, and better level designers while they were at it. Such wasted potential.
Fun game, with awesome visuals and audio. Gameplay is a bit repetitive, but enjoyable enough. Performance seems good as well. I enjoyed my time with the game and I might come back later to try for 100% achievements. As far as old-school noir vibes go, it still doesn't quite live up to Fallen Aces, but it's worth the price of admission. Drags on a bit near the end of the game, but eh. It feels weird to complain about having more content. Probably better to have too much game than too little. Anyway, 7/10.
Simple fps with great animations and a decent story. Most jokes and references landed for me. The detective aspect is simple aesthetic. Worth the money, and the ability to replay levels is a big bonus.
Seems like a good game but unfortunately it gives me motion sickness, as most of these slick, fast moving boomer shooters do. It has motion sickness options which I appreciate but I played for 40min and then had to go lay down lol. Won't be powering through.
Well, I didn't notice too much cheese on my playthrough
