Excellent game, unique souls-like experience
на 70% элден ринг, на 10% Дару Соулс и на 20 мортал шел. боёвка 50/50 ( более подробно когда пройду игру )
Okay, so, souls-likes are not my thing. I've dropped basically every one I've tried. This one I actually finished, and honestly? It's a masterpiece. The world just grabs you. Once you're in, you can't get enough one more area, one more run at that boss, and suddenly it's 2am. Difficulty-wise it takes it easy on you for the first half, then really ramps up. The last stretch is no joke and the final boss absolutely wrecked me for a while. Beating it felt amazing though. Combat's good chunky and satisfying, and it makes you actually pay attention instead of mashing buttons. Visuals are solid too, nice grim vibe that fits the whole thing. And the story genuinely got me, which I wasn't expecting at all. That's a big part of what kept me pushing through the rough patches. if souls-likes have never clicked for you, give this one a shot anyway. It worked on me.
peak way better than the first mortal shell
Very fun. Probably the second best non FromSoft souls like out there right after Lies of P. Combat feels really good, lots of build variety, and the shell memories provide a serviceable story. The game's bosses are designed pretty well, although a lot of them might seem "too easy" for a lot of players. The beginning and middle game areas and enemies are awesome, but towards the back half, the environment and enemy variety leave some to be desired but because the game isn't super long, it's not as egregious as other games that suffer from similar issues/annoyances. TL;DR if you like souls like games, you will enjoy this one.
No more Soulslikes, I said. I'd played too many, and wanted to wait a few years until the next game by From appeared. But Mortal Shell II drew me back in. I was lukewarm on the original Mortal Shell, but its sequel feels like it was made by a completely different team. The combat is snappy, the graphics are sharp, and the whole thing runs terrifically on my RTX 3070. There is quite an interesting power curve. The game starts out with every single enemy feeling like a tense encounter. By the end of the game, I was a whirling avatar of death. The world design is packed with things to explore, and I was completely engaged. Just a few places felt lackluster, and unfortunately one of those was the final dungeon. Nevertheless, I quite enjoyed my time with Mortal Shell II. If you're looking to scratch that Soulslike itch, give this a shot!
This is a really fun game. And frustrating. And the story is weird. Reminds me of Dark Souls.
A very good game tainted by an incredibly drawn out late-game with what I can only describe as the worst final boss in any souls-like I have ever played. All the boss did was spam disengage attacks and grabs what would take the tankiest character from 100-0, and then kill your physical body in the same attack. And then to add insult to injury, final phase would disable your ability to regain your shell, the mechanic that has been paramount throughout the entire game. Absolute shame that the game managed to leave a sour taste in my mouth after such a great journey overall. Still would recommend to play for the combat overall, however the story is not very strong if that's something you're looking for.
i like it alot
