Absolutely loved it, a bit too long but it's OK
i alone am the mortal one
Love the game, super fun and great stories. But it's so short, hope they come out with more.
It's totally fine, 7/10 for the most part, but the level-up materials are too scarce, switching between shells is a chore that the UI/systems don't encourage, and the endgame area is so bad it made me quit with no regrets.
I loved the aesthetic of Mortal Shell 1, but the combat was sluggish as hell, the level design was a bit hard to navigate, and the dang imps and beartraps just jumped you out of nowhere way too often. The sequel remedies all of that. The combat is so satisfying (especially once you've got a build going), the exploration really makes sense, and, while the mobs can still murder you in seconds flat, it feels a lot more fair. The aesthetic is still there, though there's a lot more humor this time around, like they kept most of the edgy grimdark stuff but sanded the edges off here and there. I personally think it went a little too far, but the score and the gore and the art is still great, so I'm not gonna complain. The first game felt like an HR Giger art book presented without commentary, while this game feels like the 2018 film Mandy with some bio-architectural megastructures thrown in. Which I'm sure makes perfect sense to a good 70% of Mortal Shell-curious gamers.
Beautiful, totally worth it.
better than elden ring fromsoft falls, cold symmetry rises
Definitely one of my most favorite souls-like games out there. Bosses are badass. Shells feel really good, each one has their own strengths but they're all viable, same go for the weapons. Game runs very well, even on a 4 year old laptop
Mortal Shell 2 me surpreendeu positivamente.
