best souls game I've played since Lies of Peak
I really want to love this game. It's such a marked improvement over the first installment, but the edges are just too rough for me to feel like I can. Like many others have said, the further into the game you get, the worse it becomes, and I'd like to clarify that I don't think it's the core design philosophy to blame, or even any one intended element, but rather a continuous piling on of weird jank and buggy combat that makes the game worse the further in you get. For example, the boss I fought before the final boss was
a revamp of the tutorial boss
, but instead of feeling like a bookend on my skill at the game improving, it felt like a coalescence of every bug and glitch every other boss had up till that point, which I can't believe was the intended experience. In that light, I just can't recommend the game as it is.
inject this ♥♥♥♥ straight into my veins
Now, this game is absolutely brilliant. Every character is viable, every build is viable with the notable exception of parry/riposte builds, which, while viable, are underwhelming. Which is the only negative that I can really attribute to this game, and it's made worse by the fact that the riposte animations are, simply, the best I've ever seen in a game. Yes, you could argue that they added an extra challenge for the coolest content the game has to offer, if that's the case, I can respect it without understanding it. I can, because: THIS GAME IS A BLOODY MASTERPIECE. It took everything good about the first game, made it better, and polished every single rough edge the first had. The soundtrack gets you into the ambient, the sound effects are perfect. The weapon design is outlandish, there are even living weapons. Character design and animations are polished. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had, and one of the very few games I bothered getting all achievements for.
A fantastic game, reminds me of playing dark souls 1 for the first time, only with years of QoL and care. Thoroughly recommended, not just to souls fans either. Has more than enough to make it stand out and feel like its own game, rather than some souls-likes that (while fun!) feel more like fan-made DLC than their own original thing The good: + truly feels like its own thing, cannot stress enough how the combat *feels* similar-yet-different to any other souls like. Its brutal, reactive, and has a great depth + the shell system is wonderful. With levels buffing all "shells" and then each having their own skill tree that's unlocked alongside lore. Makes each feel like not just a character, but potential main character. Each shell also feels incredibly unique gameplay wise. Not to mention their interesting designs, lore, and unique interactions hidden throughout the story/world + bosses are fun and memorable, even the hard ones feel a lot more earned than others in the genre. With most simply having strong fundamentals and good pressure rather than gimmiks + fantastic dungeon design, quite literally the best I've ever seen. Trully had no idea what any cave or beacon had inside it in the best of ways + great weapon options: all the weapons and sidearms have a lot of depth and options, and thats before the "tarstone" system that allows passives and actives for each weapon as well as for your character + great exploration: not since breath of the wild have I just wanted to explore a map (but without the need for towers). Absolute joy to use the in-game treasure maps and hunt for this or that weapon or shell. + art: absolutely gorgeous. Walking a thin line between a lot of ideas and designs that really could make the game distracting, yet pulls it off with style. Feeling somewhere between low fantasy and HR Gieger in the best of ways. The world is beautiful, brutal, alien, ad somehow still cohesive. Stylized yet high fidelity. Even tried locations such as a snowy area or swamp feel wholly unique here. + the camera, the first third person game I've played with a close up camera that wasn't obnoxious. The "immersive" camera as its called is a perfect middle ground of close but not too close, dynamic but still controlled, and the offscreen warnings meant I never was attacked by something I couldn't see + patches, game support has been quick and regular, issues I saw at launch were gone within the first patch and technically speaking the game is airtight, better than most AAA games I've played in a while Issues (had to really think for these, prepare for nitpicks): - The lock on was a bit, slippery? Specifically in a group sometimes an attack would cause me to lock on to another enemy than intended. May have to do with the directional attack settings - for some reason, a few bosses have post-mortem attacks. Some that deal serious damage. The problem is if that kills you, you do not get the boss's gloom (souls), really deflates the victory and hopefully will be patched - super minor nitpicks, but would be nice if shell points weren't per-shell. Adds a needless step when swapping shells as you can add and refund them for free. Also wish the cosmetics ("shades" specifically) were more varied. The room and presentation and scarcity make them feel very interesting, but most are just simple recolors. - the most petty nitpick of all: a specific late game spider enemy doesn't flinch when hit. Makes sense, it's supposed to be challenging and stats wise is very fair. But due to its lack of flinch, it can attack you while its been grappled by certain moves like Proxima's biosampler. Petty I know, but that spider haunts me. Overall I cannot recommend the game enough, easily my favorite release all year. Cannot stop recommending this to friends
I played the first game and loved it back then I beat the game deathless and beat the game with out a shell twice (Still actively playing thru fist playthrough) Pros: i love the new animations and riposte animations the new shells and weapons look sick i very much enjoyed having a much larger open world most of the weapons feel fun to use i like the accesories alot and i see a lot of potential in them Cons: the boss damage is way to damn high, most bosses are going to 1 or 2 tap you despite having a good or high level I despise the dodging in this game, If i dodged baackwards a little to early they will slide across the floor to hit me even though im dodge not even to dodge but to get distance or if im trying to strafe they will do a 180 and instantly hit me most bosses dont have too high of health but have really high damage causing most fights to end in roughly a minute with so little breathing room, most fights start with depleting half their health bar then they enter second phase where they pull out some bs move that leads to you losing your shell in one second despite being a higher level then recommended i might be a tweaker for saying this but i feel like most of the shell ablities just dont do any good damage, most of them i dont even feel like using because instead of using half resolve to do break damage or to do a status affect that usally wont have a huge effect on the boss because the fight is over in 1ish minute I had really high hopes for this game, ive been waiting like 4 or more years for this just for it to be like a high 4/10 i do like how they are actively updating the game the game is decently well optimized. Im running a 3060 with a ryzen 5600, on low settings i can run around 110 frames they have been a small team from the start, i know. but i feel like they can do better if you like a good indie souls like id recommend "lies of P" pretty solid game with a good gimmck mixed in with fun gameplay
まだ序盤しかプレイしてないけど体力バーいらなくね?
