Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

少しずつコツコツ進めてます。私はアクションが苦手なので、コマンドバトルのモンハンはとても面白いです。モンスターを狩るのが苦ではないため、素材を集めるのも楽しいし、サブクエをこなしたり、オトモンを派遣したり、色々やることがあります。メインストーリーも脇道に逸れながらですが進めています。取敢えずメインストーリーを進めて、お話を最後まで楽しむ予定です。

This part of the franchise is severely underrated. I've played the first one, now this one, and as of the time of writing, will be starting on the third. Being a Monster Hunter game with a solid story is quite fun. The story is kind of what you'd expect with other JRPGs (same vibes as a shounen anime), the characters are cool and fun, and the gameplay is pretty good. Combat is pretty entertaining, but can be RNG-dependent oftentimes. Raising monsters and their skills is where most of the RPG-RNG lies. Like with a lot of JRPGs, it's a slow start, but pretty enjoyable afterwards. IDK what it is, maybe because this game doesn't take itself seriously and is more cartoonish, but the corny bits are quite endearing. While in World and Wilds, it comes off more cringey. Before World, Monster Hunter was more cool with being a bit goofy. Something I do miss from it. Something charming about this game too, is that it uses the animations of the mainline games, and it's just so cute. Highly recommended game. Only issue is that the controls are a bit outdated, but if you really love Monster Hunter (and turn-based games), you'll probably love this. (Also, the OST of this game is really good.)
