I personally prefer this over MHS1. Story wise both MHS1 and this are good and enjoyable, and the main thing I like about it is the monsties are finally big. They are not their proper size but it's still a W (MHS3 fixed that). And there are no loading screens when exploring the dens and some dens are pretty big. I also like that they changed the fast traveling system, and now you no longer need a paw ticket to fast travel. In MHS1 if you do a quest you'll get a paw permit which will give you the ability to fast travel unlimited without paw tickets. So it's not really a new thing, but they made it easier by giving you the ability from the start. Something else I really liked is there are no longer multiple eggs for the same monstie. So now when you get one you can easily identify which egg it is, and that's especially helpful for a person like me who has a goldfish memory. And they also changed the combat in this game. It's the usual power, speed, tech, but now you can predict the monster moves easily because it's not RNG like in MHS1. I didn't mind the combat of MHS1, ya it's kinda unpredictable sometimes, but if you are facing a monstie like Diablos you can assume he's gonna use a lot of power attacks. But after playing MHS2's combat I found this way more enjoyable than MHS1. And another thing is now you can take three weapons with you: slash, blunt, and penetrating weapons. And you have to target monsties body parts with the appropriate weapons, and that's really cool. Overall I really enjoyed the game, but I do have one complaint. In MHS1 you could change the lead monstie by pressing E on the keyboard. But now you have to press escape and then select lead monstie to change. I don't understand why they changed that. But ya other than that the game was really fun and I can't wait to start MHS3. Happy Hunting or Riding <3
I think this is a nice entry for people who want to try turn-based games but get easily bored. The rock paper scissors type of gameplay is fun, and there's a lot going on other than that. I just don't like the environment looking bland, and this game being set in the old world is no excuse since we got really unique and interesting biomes in MH4 and MHR. Also, Unpopular opinion but I really love Navirou. He just adds color and personality to the story. Given that at first his voice was really annoying, he easily grew on me. His character does nothing negative, and everything he does is in favor of you. He's not the type of side character whose actions are selfish and annoying.
Its like Pokemon, but with Monster Hunter Monsters. Enjoyable and addiciting if you enjoy catching them all. Around 100 total to capture. The story is very childish and not serious at all. Overall an 8/10
This was super Fing boring. I'm a story guy, and as basic as the MH:S1 story was, it was alot more entertaining and engaging then this one's. 15 hours, it took half this game to find the Fing plot, why oh why does this game need that much filler of useless information. They hooked me with light pits and the missing rathalos, and all i got for 15 HOURS was back stories of the characters who had have nothing to do with anything, doing random choirs for them. The characters from the first game are back... but your character, who I assumed died cause they're referred as the Legendary Hero and you don't get that while living. Yea the whole glowing pits up until the ending is treated as an inconvenience rather than a world ending event like the Black Blight was. The combat only changed a bit, adding more weapons and weapon type advantages. My problem with exp is still there, after a bit the effort put in fighting isn't worth the amount of exp you get, why should I waste 6-7 minutes in one fight to get less and 100 exp. Also why is it always a rathalos, you have over monsters. Honest to god, if I wasn't recording this for Youtube, I would have quit back when I was kidnapped in Lulucion.
i hate that this game forces you to do online coop for the cooler monster eggs but other then that this is a really awesome game and i do love being able to ride the Lagiacrus one of my fav monsters all in all awesome game
A história é legal.
