Fun and simple
Heya folks, Shaun here, and I’m back with my latest review! In this one, I’m covering a 2025 indie shoot ’em up style arcade game called Mix It! Reloaded by T3ampo and Bear Sneeze. The developer originally contacted me a couple weeks ago to feature the game on my channels, and I agreed. They recently got in touch with me again to feature their latest major update, titled “Revolutions” which adds an early version of their new Endless Mode, and it introduces three new enemy types. It also adds a colorblind mode, and a few individual audio sliders. Mix It! Reloaded is an arcade style shoot ’em up style game that also acts as an educational game as well. The game’s theme is based on the concept of light and how it affects different colors. The game is largely aimed at kids, because I learned about this topic in elementary school when I was a kid. So, adults may find the subject matter a tad simple. But for young children just learning about this stuff, it’s actually a pretty solid way to teach them about it, and possibly get them interested in shoot ’em up arcade games as well. There’s no story to the game, and is largely level based. The game is split into 3 different areas, each of which have 3 separate levels for you to complete. Each area focuses on a different topic, and these topics have an effect on the overall gameplay in each level. The levels start off simple but get to be a decent challenge in the 3rd level. The new endless mode is situated in a new Experimental Mode on the main menu. Since this mode is new, and it’s still an early version of it, it still has things to improve upon and change. This mode introduces new enemy types including a snake enemy, a ship enemy, and a mine. Each one varies in difficulty to take down but they all add another layer to the gameplay. It also makes the gameplay a lot more varied and fun to play as well, and I personally think the endless mode is currently my favorite mode in the game so far. I found the story mode a tad simple, but endless mode offers some challenge, as staying alive for long periods of time becomes difficult as the game continually speeds up. The game also has different colored ships, which have different types of colored bullet types. These different colored ships effect the gameplay differently depending on the area of the game you’re playing in. As an example, in endless mode, you need to fire at multi-colored asteroids with the opposite color bullet/ship in order to destroy it and earn points. Which adds to the difficulty of the mode. Overall, Mix It! Reloaded may not be a game you’re familiar with (It doesn’t have many reviews on Steam, as of writing this), but I do find it pretty fun. The story mode is probably going to be a tad too simple for adults, but the new endless mode is a ton of fun. The story mode is great for young children, though, and I think the game would work as a way to get kids interested in the genre as well. So, I’d give it a recommendation, it’s a pretty fun game. If I were to rate the game, I’d give it a 7 out of 10. Definitely looking forward to seeing how it changes and improves with future updates. Pros: The Story Mode Is Great For Young Children Who May Be Just Getting Into This Subject Might Work Well As An Introductory Game To the Genre Endless Mode Is A Ton Of Fun, And Can Be A Decent Challenge The Light/Color Based Gameplay Is Pretty Unique Is Colorful and the Artwork For The Characters/Ships/Asteroids Looks Nice Cons: The Story Mode Is A Tad Simple For Adults Or Those That Are Familiar With The Subject Matter/Genre The Game Only Has One Song For Its Gameplay, Which Is Catchy At First, But It Does Get Repetitive To Listen To After Playing For A Decent Amount of Time.
A Mix It! fénytörést veszi alapul a játék mechanikáihoz. I like the game with the concept of adding educational subject to a game, some points like adding more settings and others are mentioned in my review included in the video. https://youtu.be/8yBy8AgXKCA
I held down the fire button and fell asleep for a minute or two, when i woke up the stage was completed. Good for afk gaming.
Mix It! RELOADED is a surprisingly fun and creative arcade shooter that uses colors in a unique way. Instead of just shooting everything, you actually have to switch between light-spectrum colors to match enemies and survive. It's simple to learn but gets challenging fast --- in a good way. The neon visuals look great, the gameplay is smooth, and the color-logic mechanic makes every run feel different. If you enjoy fast reactions, pattern reading, and arcade-style scoring, this game is a hidden gem. Perfect for short sessions or chasing a high score. I also did a dev collab video for this game, and after playing more, I can say the concept is clever and has a lot of potential. For the price, it’s absolutely worth trying. Recommended 👍
A Frantic, Visually Stunning, and Highly Addictive Colour-Switching Arcade Shooter! "Mix it! Reloaded" is a brilliant fusion of classic twin-stick arcade chaos and clever colour-matching logic. The core mechanic of rapidly switching light spectra to match enemy weaknesses is incredibly satisfying and keeps the gameplay feeling fresh and constantly challenging. The visuals are gorgeous, making excellent use of vibrant complementary colors against the deep space backdrop. Coupled with the award-winning soundtrack, this game truly delivers on the promise of a captivating, fast-paced, and highly polished indie shooter. If you love games that test your reflexes and pattern recognition (like Ikaruga or Geometry Wars), you need this in your library. Highly recommended!
