In this twist on minesweeper, find all treasures while avoiding mines to clear stages. Use items, deduce from nearby counts, or guess to identify tiles. Features a large-scale mode with multiple stages leading to a final treasure, and a small-scale mode focused on deducing a single stage.

I do not recommend
While i personally didn't like the game, I still recommend to try it to anyone who likes minesweeper. Especially considering that it's free. My main gripe with this game is in the main mechanic that differentiates it from the classical minesweeper. Nearby counts don't specify if there are mines or treasures in the surrounding tiles. And to uncover what's hidden under the tile, the player has to use one of the items available in limited numbers. Which just leads to more guessing than in classical minesweeper. You can "solve" the field but still lose just because you didn't have enough items and didn't guess right. Which leads me to think that this mechanic is just an unnecessary and self-isolated overcomplication of classical minesweeper. Maybe it would've been better if nearby counts separatly showed the amounts of mines and treasures without the need to use the magnifying glass.
Or maybe i'm just a casual?
Mine? Sweeper is an unabashed, lazy ripoff of Minecraft (Copyright Microsoft, 1989). Many lazy "amateur" developers don't pay attention to their obligations under copyright law, and often steal the ideas of actual, real game developers without credit, such as the "developer" here has done. Putting aside the unethical intellectual, creative and moral bankruptcy of stealing someone else's game concept, this is also breaking that unwritten law of stealing other people's game ideas... you should at least try to do better than the game you're ripping off. Mine? Sweeper is considerably worse than Minecraft."Mine? Sweeper" ripoff What do you do in the game? It's minesweeper. The only difference is that Microsoft hasn't taken any legal action (yet), and there's a gimmick around collecting treasure, but this was not the "twist" on someone else's intellectual property that would make gamers lime up around the block to play someone's ripoff of someone else's mouse tutorial game from the 1980s. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. On pricing, this is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
I'm going to open with the one positive thing I can say about the game: putting a dungeon exploration skin on it is a cute and fun idea. Unfortunately, the rest of what I have to say is going to be negative. This game is extremely frustrating, especially if you are at all familiar with the original version. -You cannot simply uncover the safe tiles. Instead, you have to move the character next to the tile you want to clear and then click it again. The character cannot clear tiles in diagonal, meaning you will have to do some additional moving to clear around even a single mine and frequently, you will not be able to clear a safe tile at all. -When labeling tiles (simple right click, as the original), you first place a question mark and only on the second click you put down a trap label. The question mark is completely unnecessary and the trap labeling is integral to the game, so the order of placing them should at least be reversed. Unlike the OG, where tiles marked as mines are not clickable, you can still make your character accidentally trigger a correctly marked trap. -The numbers enumerating the traps can change -The fact that you need to move your character to clear tiles means that the character will be standing on the numbers you need to see to know where the traps are. Yes, the number will be kind of visible, but the font and color combination selected for this make them very hard to read. I didn't even notice they appear at all at first, because they are the same color as the character's face. I also don't really like the timer mechanic, but that's more of a personal preference, so I would not list it as negative by itself. Problem is: you waste so much time moving the character around that it swings past challenging right into frustrating. Overall, I'd say that the original wasn't broken. If all this game was was minesweeper with a skin, it would be great. But it is not either of those things.

Bear's Take: "Mine? Sweeper" - a twist on the classic minesweeper formula, but does it hit the mark or miss the minefield entirely? Sip 'n' Savor: "Mine? Sweeper" attempts to breathe new life into the classic minesweeper gameplay, but unfortunately, it falls short of expectations. While the concept of finding treasures amidst mines sounds intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired. The game deviates too far from the traditional minesweeper rules, leading to confusion and frustration for players familiar with the original game. Instead of offering a fresh take on the genre, "Mine? Sweeper" feels like a missed opportunity to innovate while still honoring the beloved classic. Milk Mustache Moment: Despite its attempt to introduce new mechanics and twists, "Mine? Sweeper" ultimately fails to capture the essence of what made the original minesweeper so enjoyable. The lack of respect for the classic rules undermines the gameplay experience, leaving players feeling disoriented and dissatisfied. While the concept of finding treasures adds an interesting layer, it's not enough to salvage the overall experience. Roar Factor: While "Mine? Sweeper" may appeal to players seeking a novel twist on the traditional minesweeper formula, its departure from the classic rules may alienate purists. The game's failure to strike the right balance between innovation and fidelity to the original undermines its potential for widespread appeal. In the crowded landscape of puzzle games, "Mine? Sweeper" struggles to stand out as a must-play title. Final Paw-sition: Should you embark on a treasure hunt with "Mine? Sweeper"? Unfortunately, the answer is no. Despite its attempt to reinvent the classic minesweeper formula, the game's departure from traditional rules leads to confusion and frustration. Fans of the original game may find themselves longing for the familiar simplicity of classic minesweeper. Rating: 🐻🍯 (2 out of 10)
