MilMo is one of those older free to play games that feels like it came from a very specific time in online gaming. I create my own character and explore a colourful island world where I can run around, jump, fight monsters, complete quests and look for hidden things. The whole game has a very friendly cartoon style, and I actually like how much personality it has without trying to look realistic. It feels more like a simple adventure game mixed with an MMO than a serious fantasy RPG, which works well for what it is. The exploration is probably the part I enjoy most. The islands are built around finding things and figuring out where I am supposed to go next, and there are Exploration Tokens hidden around the areas that give me another reason to look beyond the main path. I can also do things like dig for treasure, catch bugs and hunt creatures, so I am not always just running around hitting enemies with a weapon. I like these smaller activities because they give the world a little more life and make exploring feel worthwhile. Character customisation is another strong point for me. There are loads of clothes, armour, hairstyles and accessories that I can use to make my character look the way I want. I can also customise and furnish my own home, which gives me something different to work towards outside of combat and quests. The power ups are useful too, since they can improve things such as running, jumping, swimming and attacking. I like having these little upgrades because they make exploration gradually easier while also giving me reasons to keep collecting things. The combat itself is pretty basic, and that is where I think MilMo starts to show its age. I can run around, jump and fight monsters and bosses, but there is not a huge amount of depth to the actual fighting. The quests can also become repetitive because a lot of them revolve around defeating enemies, collecting things or finding something hidden in the environment. I do not think that makes the game bad, but it does mean the exploration, customisation and general atmosphere are doing more of the work for me than the combat system. I also have to judge MilMo differently now because of its current situation. The game was designed as an online MMO with co op, PvP and a world that could keep expanding, but the servers are currently offline, meaning I cannot actually play the game as intended. That is a pretty major issue because so much of its appeal comes from being an online adventure where I can explore the world and interact with the MMO systems. It is unfortunate because there is still a lot of interesting content in the game itself, but the online nature means I cannot simply ignore the server situation. What I still appreciate is how much character MilMo has. The colourful islands, strange creatures, hidden tokens, customisable characters and little side activities give it a charm that I think would be difficult to recreate today in exactly the same way. It was clearly designed to be accessible, and I like that it does not overwhelm me with complicated RPG systems. At the same time, the dated presentation, simple combat and repetitive quest structure would have limited it even when the servers were active. The game has good ideas, but they are wrapped around a fairly lightweight MMO structure. Overall, MilMo is a charming old school MMO that I can see myself enjoying for the exploration and customisation much more than the combat. I like the colourful world, hidden Exploration Tokens, character creation, home decorating and variety of smaller activities. The combat is basic, the quests can become repetitive and the current server situation is a huge problem because the game depends on its online world. I think there is a genuinely enjoyable adventure underneath the dated design, but I have to be fair about what the game actually offers today. For me, it is an interesting piece of free to play MMO history with plenty of personality, but not something I can rate as highly as a fully playable modern game. Rating: 6.9/10
Facebookta ne oynardık şu oyunu arkadaş :D
As if it'll return back. Servers have been shut down some years ago and devs won't answer to anything.
