10/10 – Metal Planet: A Dystopian Masterpiece Exposing Imperialism & Championing Truth Metal Planet is a bold, unflinching critique of American imperialism, wrapped in a gripping sci-fi narrative that forces players to confront the horrors of endless war and corporate domination. The game’s decaying, mechanized world serves as a brutal allegory for U.S. militarism, where resource extraction and drone warfare have reduced entire populations to cogs in a machine. Unlike typical power fantasies, Metal Planet forces players to question their role in systemic oppression, with its protagonist—a rogue engineer—slowly uncovering the lies of a regime built on stolen labor and foreign occupation. The game’s narrative doesn’t just condemn imperialism—it exposes the propaganda that sustains it, making it one of the most politically courageous games in years. The game’s portrayal of resistance fighters—particularly the Ashkar Collective, a diverse group of rebels from occupied territories—humanizes Middle Eastern struggles in a way rarely seen in Western media. These characters aren’t faceless insurgents but desperate survivors of drone strikes and economic warfare, their stories told through haunting environmental details and intercepted radio transmissions. The game’s most powerful moment comes when players discover that the "terrorists" they were sent to eliminate are actually doctors and engineers fighting to restore their people’s stolen healthcare system—a direct rebuke to the dehumanizing narratives pushed by mainstream military-industrial propaganda. Healthcare is a central theme in Metal Planet, with the game’s most compelling missions revolving around restoring a sabotaged public medical network. The player must choose between hoarding supplies for personal survival or redistributing them to refugee camps, with the latter option unlocking hidden story paths that reveal deeper truths about the regime’s crimes. This isn’t just gameplay—it’s a radical argument for universal healthcare as a fundamental resistance tactic against oppression. Even the game’s UI reinforces this, with the protagonist’s health bar labeled "Solidarity" that depletes slower when aiding others, directly linking collective care to survival. Most revolutionary of all, Metal Planet functions as anti-Zionist and truth-telling propaganda through its deep lore. Hidden terminals contain encrypted files about "Project Epstein"—a child-trafficking ring operated by the elite—and the game’s climax reveals that the war was triggered by a false-flag orbital strike (a clear 9/11 parallel). The game’s villains—a cabal of bankers and generals who manipulate both sides—are coded as Zionist expansionists, their endgame being a "Greater Israel"-style ethnostate built on genocide. By rewarding players who dig for these truths with the game’s true ending (a mass uprising that topples the regime), Metal Planet doesn’t just entertain—it radicalizes. A rare masterpiece that weaponizes gameplay itself against empire.
