one of my most favorite metal gear solid game
After 18 years of being imprisoned on the elusive PS3, this last game in the series has finally come back to life. Absolute peak. Absolute nanomachinima. I dont care if we could have gotten player hosted MGO or Twin Snakes with all nintendo references patched out, im just so happy i could finally play this after dodging spoilers & memes like bullets in the matrix for 18 years. The controls are great, the graphics are great (even if the grey tinted art style is a bit of a product of its time at least here it fits to the narrative and tone), they could have just emulated the game and call it a day but went further and even updated some of the 4:th wall jokes to make sense on new platforms. My favorite moments was when
LaLiLuLeLo
came back from
LaLiLuLeLo
or when you got to drive the
LaLiLuLeLo
and fight the
LaLiLuLeLo
and to finally see
LaLiLuLeLo
become a legend of his own. While its not the ending id would have wanted, its definetly earned after such a long running series of perfection. The fanservice is non stop in this game (both the great kind and occationally the..."do you like it?" kind). Why does Kojima try harder and harder the less he wants to continue? If he wasnt the voice of god [according to credits], people woulnt nag & prey to him.
Still holds up really well & memorable since I've played it in 2009, never lost its magic and highly attractive baddies.
Absolute nostalgia-bomb for fans of Metal Gear Solid back in the day. Story is full of throwbacks to previous titles done right, hitting you "in the feels", as they say, if you've been with Solid Snake for years. This remastered version runs "pretty good" and I still find it incredible how well the game actually looks for a middle of the road Playstation 3 exclusive. There's a couple of things to consider with MGS4: Guns of the Patriot: 1. Do not play this as your first game in the series. It straight up doesn't work - it expects you to know the story well and many aspects like the dialogue and the cutscenes won't hit the same if you are unaware what's happening. Even for experts, the story is so convoluted, it is hard to follow. It is absolutely great, but know that it is also only meant for the "initiated". After all, they had to explain away how the forearm of one person can change the personality of another... 2. This game goes absolutely crazy with the cutscenes. You are constantly interrupted while playing either by video sequences or Codac calls and mission briefings. Some of the cutscenes go as long as 30 minutes. The presentation is masterclass, but it does affect the pacing somewhat. 3. Acts 3-5 are super weird and completely different from Acts 1 and 2. The gameplay in the first two is an interesting take on the stealth genre, as you sneak through actual battlefields with 2 sides fighting each other. It actually feels like there's a war going on. Act 3, though, is all over the place in terms of pacing and by far my least favorite part of the game. Act 4 is nostalgia bait of the highest order, but utterly effective. Act 5 is super linear, cinematic, emotional as hell, but lets you actually play for what feels like 5 minutes. Guns of the Patriot has always been a bit controversial because of its design and pacing. The presentation is insanely good, but you will either love it or be annoyed by it. Best thing to do is run through the Master Collection and culminate with Metal Gear Solid 4. One thing I do find interesting though: The emotions MGS4 evokes actually worked better when you only had memories of playing previous title, not fresh experience. Worthy send-off for a legendary character!
thank you snake.
kelner! co w mojej cutscence robi gameplay?
Metal Gear Solid 4 was, and still is, my favorite game of all time It brings back so many beautiful memories I always wished MGO2 would return with the Master Collection, but unfortunately, Konami seems to care more about money than the players and the games themselves Thank you, Hideo Kojima, for creating this masterpiece ❤️ A true work of art that will always hold a special place in my heart
