If you like chasing enemies dancing in and out of fog of war with no clear indication of your vision range on them, then go ahead. The turn system is also really weird compared to other tactical games.
A game that feels like a genuine psyop. Like a joke that everyone else is in on but you aren't. Soul-crushingly difficult at the start with no desire to ease you in. No attempt to make the game click or introduce any kind of gameplay loop. You just die. That's it. That's all there is to it. You start a mission and the game just endlessly crushes you over and over. You start with bottom of the barrel gear and a market you can't afford anything from. If by some stroke of luck you make it past the first mission, the game will immediately punish you for it, as if the developers resent you bought the game. I've never played something that so transparently hated the player. I haven't hated a game this much in awhile. Stay away.
The game is a modernised combination of Fallout: Tactics and XCOM. Impressive effects, good balance, interesting skill/ weapon combinations. Felt really good playing and happy with the price. It does however, feel like it can use a few more skill/ability mechanics in the next patches and more missions. Currently it feels 80-90% complete. The ship can use more skill slots, the SLs a bit more skill variety to increase specialization. The format definitely allows multiplayer, would love to see that.
So I returned after taking a few month of as you do with early access titles, just for the devs to ad a new SL tax mechanic that punishes not min-maxing. After we went through the self same thing with the whole promotion tax thing!
Feels cheap and slow. Really couldn't get into it. Lost interest in the first mission
I gotta stop buying early access content. I love the turn based combat, but the campaign isn't fleshed out and there isn't any real story/character development to speak of. Probably about 20 hours of content total.
Worst part of this game is that the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemy dont move at all unless you're able to see them. So During the 10 turns to complete a map, if you dont have 10 trucks driving all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ map to find the enemy you will never complete this quest. ♥♥♥♥ on night maps i lose entire squads because the enemy is sitting in a corner that i cant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ see until im right on top of them... Really stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ programming.
Juegazo.
