About

MasterQuest Fantasy is a captivating role-playing experience that takes players back to the golden age of tabletop RPGs from the 70s and 80s.
It embraces the nostalgic charm of those classic adventures, inviting you to step into a world where imagination reigns supreme, and the unexpected lurks around every corner.
With its procedurally generated world and a style that pays homage to the timeless fantasy of old, MasterQuest Fantasy offers a fresh experience with each and every playthrough.

No two gameplay runs are ever alike. One adventure might lead you on a desperate quest to destroy a powerful trinket before the Dark Lord awakens, while another could see you locked in battle against the twelve mysterious Zodiac Knights who guard ancient secrets.
One day, you might find yourself lost in a maze of enchanted forests, searching for the legendary Crystal of Shadows, and the next, you could be outwitting a cunning dragon in the depths of a forgotten mountain stronghold.

The places you visit and the people you meet are never the same twice — from the mysterious wanderer who asks you to help him track a murderer, to the jolly peasant girl who invites you to play a game of snikzesfwhlingdir, each interaction and encounter is shaped by the unique world generated for you.

Be prepared to face perilous traps, deadly beasts, and powerful foes that will test your mettle. Death is not just a possibility — it's inevitable.
You will die in countless ways: perhaps valiantly battling a ferocious dragon to protect a village, falling in glorious combat against a horde of undead warriors, or slowly starving after getting lost in the barren wastelands of the Frozen Peaks.
Or, maybe your end will be less dignified: slipping on a patch of mud while fleeing a group of goblins, choking on a particularly large bite of pie, or accidentally triggering an ancient mechanism that floods the room with hundreds of rampaging chickens.
But with every death, a new story begins, and with it, new opportunities arise.

Are you ready to embark on an endless journey, where every new adventure could be your greatest triumph — or your most devastating defeat?
In MasterQuest Fantasy, the only certainty is that no two adventures will ever be the same. How far will your imagination take you?

I will give this a thumbs up but it has a caveat - you will die alot especailly early on and often with no chance to avert it . I also think its better just to get on sale as a full price is too high you will just die at the first or second place you visit everytime it seems - and one just seems to fail on the die rolls for every kind test the game puts to you. There isnt any easy way to make money either so you quickly run out of money to buy rations, ifyou survive long enough. Worst of all if you explore a dungeon and encounter a creature which seems insignficant but is invariably taking chunks out of your HP, you cant flee, so you simply have to hope for favorable die rolls, but they never come. I think the main characters HP is always far too low. Trying to take a healing poition during combat also seems to spell doom for you character. I get he appeal of games where you die and repeat and get better, but that is not really possibl ein this game as every new adventure doesnt carry over any stats and its randomised all the time. On the randomised aspect though, while encounters can be a bit random, you tend to always ahve the same ones - encountering a cultist, encountering an elf girl who you can try and help with doing something, getting constantly bad die rolls and dying after some small enemy is able to kill you in two or three blows. But despite these hurdles if you can survive long enough to get up to level 3 or 4 then combats start becoming more favorable against the lower creatures and you get alot more loot and special items. But beware that if your hunger hits 100% you die instantly, even though all it means is that your character didnt eat for a day or two - sure thats not great, but it shouldnt mean certain death right away. I had high hunger and got a village to buy rations, but died just before i could select the market
MasterQuest Fantasy has a fun and engaging concept, and I’ve enjoyed my time playing it. The RNG mechanics feel fair, and the challenge keeps things interesting. That said, the real issue is the sheer number of bugs. Helping an orc chop wood? Don’t do it—you’ll receive an item that outright breaks the game. If you pick up +3 rations, you won’t be able to eat, meaning starvation is inevitable. And whatever you do, equip your gear the moment you start, or you’ll get obliterated before you even get your bearings. The foundation of the game is solid, but the bugs make it hard to fully enjoy. If the developers can clean things up, it could be a great experience—but as it stands, MasterQuest Fantasy is more of a frustrating adventure than a legendary one.
The game is really good, but it ends up being quite easy. In fact, it's so easy that sometimes I end up dying because of the sheer amount of food dropped by enemies (the amount of food bugs and he dies). Still, it's a fun experience to play
