In short, it's great to see new promising projects—definitely give it a try. In a bit more detail: Manor Lords is currently a solid indie game that could grow into a full-scale project. It has its own style, refined gameplay, and the meditative nature of city-building simulators. It's clearly being created with love. The project is perfect for those who aren't looking for a mind-blowing challenge, but rather want to relax and feel like a feudal lord. Combat tactics and strategy take precedence over micromanagement—the mechanics are simple but very convenient. Each try will be different due to the different resource distribution. The game is still in Early Access, and you will encounter bugs and minor feature flaws. Be especially careful in the later stages of the game; don't hesitate to lower the graphics settings. Going for a weekend of alone time? Manor Lords is just what you need.
As of writing this the current "stable" version of the game erases autosaves during a crash which can cause you to lose hours of progress. Crashes also happen quite often. Not playable until this game-breaking bug is fixed, save your money.
Well, it looks nice and you can certainly get some fun out of it. But that dries up quite quickly. The early-mid game content is there but that is about it really. Development has been quite slow to say the least. I don't think it's quite hit valheim levels of slow though. Honestly I can't recommend the game right now. Give it a few months or a year and come back.
Half baked with years of broken promises. Other reviewers have said so far better than I can describe. I bought during a recent steam sale, and it presents as more of a $10-$15 demo than anything resembling a complete game. Certainly not worth the $25 sale price, let alone $40.
The game in its current state is not quite as described it mostly remains at the moment a janky economic sim game based in a vague medieval setting. The game often seems to sacrifice gameplay fluidity and enjoyment for "realism". The game in its current state is like playing the Blackice mod for HOI4, with it attempting to be this large complex sim but ultimately feeling extremely underbaked in comparison to other early access titles.
the development of this game is so slow they fix 1 bug then create 10 more at first it was 1 guy and the slow development was understood then a year ago a whole development team was added and turned into ♥♥♥♥ i'm just sick of the slow pace take my advice stay away from this game
