Great game. I haven’t played a game with such a good story in a long time. It’s incredibly engaging from start to finish, and honestly, I can’t find any flaws. Definitely one of the best games I’ve played in a while.

Very mediocre in story telling and gameplay wise. I see they tried new things other games did but really didn't hit the mark here. The ending just pissed me off. Just get this game at least half off whenever its on sale if you really want to play it. 5/10

Overall, a good addition to the series. I'm on Chapter 8 now (of I think 12) and the story, characters, and setting are all pretty decent. Sicily in the early 1900s is very well done and there are some collectibles like newspapers that play up the historical setting. The countryside is beautiful and the little towns and villages are very picturesque. There is some high-quality worldbuilding here alright. As for the story, it's the usual tale of a rise to power from nothing, with all the risk and violence that entails, plus some romance thrown in. The gameplay is decent although the stealth sequences in particular can sometimes be annoying as they are not well checkpointed. Mess up and you can find yourself back at the beginning. However after a few goes you will work it out and it wasn't frustrating enough to get me to drop the game. The driving is much much better than in the original Mafia game (for those of us old to remember) and the combat is also solid. The knife fighting sequences are an interesting addition and not too hard to get the mechanics for. Overall this is good enough that I wanted to buy the DLC for it. Definitely a buy when it goes on sale if you like third person action and crime.
