I gave it a fair shot but I can't see this title beyond it a mobile port with heavy P2W elements, with the UI being so cluttered with "packs".
*Lost Age* is a blend of RPG and card-based strategy set in a mystical world where players must battle darkness and reclaim the light. It's an idle game with a range of gameplay modes and strategic team-building mechanics. If you're into games that mix casual progression with deeper strategy, this might catch your attention. One of the standout features of *Lost Age* is the ability to progress even while offline. Your heroes continue to gather resources and battle enemies, so you can log in, collect rewards, and watch your team grow stronger without constantly needing to grind. This makes it great for players who enjoy passive progression but still want to engage with the game occasionally. The added double-speed feature lets you speed through stages if you're looking for a faster pace. The game offers a variety of modes, like roguelike dungeons and tower defense, which adds some diversity to the gameplay. There's also a pet-raising aspect, where you can recruit legendary companions to buff your heroes and help you conquer tougher challenges. The strategic depth lies in carefully selecting heroes with complementary skills, and there's satisfaction in experimenting with different combinations to see which synergies work best. However, *Lost Age* isn't without its flaws. While the game provides lots of content and variety, some players have criticized its heavy reliance on microtransactions. The monetization is quite aggressive, and the constant barrage of items you can buy can detract from the overall experience, making it feel like more of a money grab than a fulfilling game. The generic story and lack of meaningful narrative depth further detracts from its appeal, leaving it feeling more like a collection of mechanics than a well-rounded experience. On the positive side, *Lost Age* is perfect for fans of idle games who don’t mind the pay-to-win elements or repetitive gameplay. The game offers plenty of content, including tower defense, PvP, and team-building elements that can keep you engaged for a while, especially if you like games where you can pop in for short sessions. Overall, *Lost Age* is an enjoyable idle game for those who like gacha mechanics, strategy, and gradual progression. But if you're looking for something with more substance or are put off by heavy monetization, this might not be the game for you. It offers decent gameplay for a casual player, but it’s hard to ignore the in-your-face monetization and lack of a compelling story. If you're in it for the grind and passive progress, it’s worth a try, but be prepared to face the typical free-to-play pitfalls.
An Adventure With Heart, But Lost in Execution
Lost Age tries to combine exploration, crafting, and survival into a charming pixel-art adventure — but despite good intentions, the experience is marred by poor balance, rough performance, and a lack of direction. What starts as a nostalgic RPG quickly turns into a test of patience, not curiosity. The premise is solid: explore an ancient world, gather materials, craft tools, and survive while uncovering its secrets. The pixel visuals have personality, and the music carries a calm, retro tone that fits the theme. At first glance, Lost Age looks like the kind of small indie project that could surprise you. Unfortunately, once you start playing, the flaws become hard to ignore. The pacing is painfully slow, with repetitive tasks and grind-heavy mechanics that add little satisfaction. Combat feels clunky and unresponsive, making encounters more frustrating than rewarding. Even basic actions like collecting or crafting lack polish, often plagued by awkward hit detection or interface lag. Technical issues also drag the experience down. Players have reported crashes, frame stutters, and bugs that can soft-lock progress. The world itself, while large, feels empty and unfinished — with long stretches of exploration that offer little incentive or meaningful reward. Without a strong story or sense of progression, the game struggles to hold attention beyond the first hour. There’s passion behind Lost Age, and it shows in its art and concept. But the execution doesn’t match the ambition. With more optimization, quality-of-life improvements, and variety in its core systems, it could evolve into a solid indie gem. For now, though, it feels like an early prototype sold as a finished product — rough, repetitive, and ultimately disappointing.
The Good:
Pleasant pixel-art visuals and a relaxing soundtrack. Conceptually interesting blend of crafting and exploration. A few peaceful moments that capture an old-school adventure feel.
The Bad:
Clunky combat and repetitive grinding make progress a chore. Frequent technical issues and poor performance hurt immersion. Shallow gameplay systems and lack of clear direction. Here I will leave this rabbit, friends, who pass by, can pet it and give it a thumbs up. (i need steam points :<) /)/) ( . .) ( づ ♡
This is a decent gacha game with lots of menus and sub-menus to search through to see if you can find the random things to level or claim. There is also tower defense and PVP. It is a lot going on to know where to focus. This was covered as part of this week's episode of Free2Play Weekly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTFfoazBMVQ&t=649
Crap! A smartphone-display on a 19 inch monitor: Big wasted space left and right! I will delete it after this! Stay away.
На удивление не хентайная помойка.
