Look Outside is 100% the game of the year for me. It checks all the boxes. Gorgeous art (well horrific, but gorgeously done), excellent story, and fun gameplay. I love cosmic horror and this is chock-full of it and that's impressive since effective cosmic horror is one of the hardest things to accomplish (how would you present the viewer with horror beyond comprehension? it is not easy). 5/5, hell, 10/5. 100/5? doesn't matter, numbers are stupid. Its great. Play it.
I've been a body horror fanatic for a good handful of years. After Scorn released and the hype died down within weeks, I was craving body horror to that level for years. The day this dropped was like being handed a gift from personalized for me from the Visitor itself. This is the coolest, most elaborate body horror RPG out there. The art is immaculate, the horror is the perfect amount of extreme, the style exceeds the mark of being retro arcade, the emotional aspects are stunning and well-written, you never run out of tasks, the soundtrack is flawlessly, jawdroppingly hard hitting. Truly, this game is the poster of a 10/10 project. I cannot recommend this game enough, I bring it up to anyone willing to listen. It's beyond fairly priced for the amount of content and quality, those 10 dollars will change your life.
this was a surprisjngly fun and engaging game. i highly recommend playing on medium or cursed difficulty though as i felt that the constant save scumming you can do on easy mode ruins the game a bit. but it's up to the individual.
Criminally underpriced gem of a game. Has a lot of excellent haunting music and artwork, the concept is really intriguing, and its got a lot of clever ideas and presentation as well as being a fun RPG generally. If it all looks intriguing to you, I suggest just taking the leap and looking up as little as possible before going into it.
It's like if Undertale was introduced to body horror. 10/10 would sacrifice my arm for a rat baby again
some of the best art ive seen in a video game. phenomenal story and fun combat
my game of the year
obsessed with this game lately. its one of the best RPGs to come out in a long time. amazing music, amazing pixelart, amazing humor, amazing themes one of a few games i would reccomend even at full price if nothing else just to support the dev.
An incredibly story-rich, absolutely horrifying and macabre RPG, with plenty of content as of now! Would recommended to anyone looking for a a good scare! (Or just an excuse to never "look outside" again!) Well worth the standard price!
