Supreme cosmic horror with fine combat
An enthralling experience that has enough variety to get me to play it back to back 4 times in a row. The art and music are off the hook, and the writing strikes a good balance between scary and funny. I can tell cboyardee (Eric Shumaker) helped out with this one. A must play rpgmaker game.
All timer here. The halfway point between Fear and Hunger and Earthbound. Loved the art, loved the characters, loved the gameplay. it's so impressive seeing these RPG Maker games that really push that engine to the point of bringing something new to the medium.

This is a great game. The raw creativity on display in this game puts most AAA studios to shame. The writing is excellent, the pixel art is great and the music is endlessly entertaining. Over and above all this the game's systems work really well to allow you to pretty much do anything and go anywhere over the course of the game. Minimal handholding and very creepy enemy design.
Honestly one of the best RPGs I've seen and played in a very, very long time. This should be way more popular than it currently is.
It's incredibly amazing how many options and missable things are in this game, like it's HUGE. I don't consider myself a cosmic horror fan, I've read some Lovecraft short stories, seen some movies with the theme and it's nice, but I wouldn't say that is my type of horror. But damn this game surely does some creepy stuff that made me feel lots of emotions while playing. I know the idea of not looking at the entity/being is a fundamental thing in cosmic horror, but I had never felt so worried and distressed about not looking something, it's fantastic, I love it. I think I did like 2 "main" endings and still feel like there's thousands of things that I missed, the game has 10 endings or something around that number, and every single one of them is totally different from the others. Probably the aspect I liked the most is the atmosphere, the game truly knows how to do its scary things and when to do it, the story and lore are so weird but interesting and immersive at the same time, I'll try to do different choices in another run one day, and I'll probably get surprised again and again. Amazing game, if you want to try a cosmic horror experience, definitely try this piece of art. (You feel an urge to buy the game)
I give this a 7/10. It's a unique and charming game with gorgeous artistry and graphics. My main gripe is of course with the save system. I get it, you want to be different, you want to add a challenge. But there were times where I wanted to end my stream and I had to run around fighting just so I could save. If I were to go to bed, it would have wasted an entire day JUST so I could save. That alone was obnoxious enough to knock some points off an otherwise great game. The fighting is fun and the different characters having their own unique abilities was inspired and I enjoyed it. I only wish it was more clear that you could actually MAKE friends in the game. I probably spent the first 1/4 of the game by myself, on the struggle bus, continually dying and getting tilted because I was losing hours of progress. The cooking mechanic was cute and I also loved being able to play video games. But I collected so many games that I wasn't even able to play because doing so would have passed time and you are on a time limit. The enemies are scaled fairly and some of the boss battles had me on the edge of my seat wondering if I was going to win or lose tons of progress. Both happened a few times. The music in certain areas is beautiful. The scenery and visages that are displayed can be truly grotesque while being accompanied by sound effects that make you cringe. Pixel horror at it's finest. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game. My caveat is to do your first playthrough on easy mode. Save scum away my friends.
Amazing game. The initial pitch of "SNES RPG meets Lovecraftian horror" grabbed me, but that basic premise spirals completely out of control in the best way possible. There's just an insane amount of quests, freaky NPCs to meet, horrific enemies to battle, and secrets to uncover within this one apartment building. And all of it is illustrated with some truly unhinged pixel art that ranges from darkly comical to pure nightmare fuel. There is plenty of heart and comedy alongside the horror in the writing as well - but they don't detract from each other. Some scenarios are fairly cutesy and whimsical, but the darker and more disgusting scenes more than make up for them. This is a very difficult balance to pull off in media, and it adds to the nightmarish quality of the whole game. I could see different players experiencing this game in very different ways, from chosen party members to gear to endings. The ending I reached was horrific on an unimaginable scale, and one of my favorite video game endings of all time. Not much more you can ask for from a cosmic horror RPG. This is a true gem.
