For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. 7/10: A cosy little idle game where your whole mission is basically… collecting birds. There’s nothing wildly unique here, no standout mechanic. But as an idle game, it still does its job. It’s cute, it’s relaxing, and it’s the kind of game you check in on just to see which new feathered friend showed up. Compared to other idle games, it can feel a bit bare bones~, but it’s still a good, low effort time filler if you’re in the mood for something simple.
123 hours 3770 eggs what works: + buy eggs and click them to hatch, discover birds that accrue money so you can buy more eggs + the economy is on a funny scale + smooth, beautiful and simple design +rainbow and gold versions to chase + cute decorations + hourly and daily quests + really fun celebration pop up when you find a new bird + favorite buttons for birds + sell unlocked birds batch delete option improvements I would love to see develop: + Nicknames for birds + there could be more decoration options, but this has already been addressed a little. However, the new items have yet to show up in my shop. I have checked since the dev posted, so not sure that if was a preview or what + I don't like how some eggs will spontaneously hatch when I'm clicking. I believe the hatch potions are one time use, and I haven't bought one of every level. Every sort of egg will burst on me (sure, slowly and one at a time, but still) if I'm not fast enough to keep clicking and tying up the population (my aviary is all full LOL). I have been managing my birds and I like to watch them hatch. Wish there was a way to toggle this off. + clicking eggs is in the same zone as/shares a plane with furniture and birds, which gets clogged up and jumbled. So, sometimes you select them, just not ideal + I feel like the odds are shaky... I have hatched thousands of eggs, and still never seen a rainbow peacock, though I have 6+ rainbow chickens, turkeys and pheasants. no rainbow kiwi. update: I did get these two birds, and I was so psyched, yay!! + There are enough breeds of birds and enough variants that my menageries are perpetually full. I feel like 35 birds per area is not enough. One cannot collect every breed this way, let alone every breed and it's 4 patterns. I was hoping to have a cool, huge collection, but alas. I have quadrillions of dollars but I have to sell every golden chicken I hatch now, because I already have 4 and I want that rainbow peacock. It sort of steals the joy of a cool hatch to have to sell it to open more eggs. I have all this money and for nothing really at this point. + I wish this wheel of potions didn't pop up on an accidental right click + The stats portion of the game is tracking lots of interesting stuff. I'd love to see a log of eggs I hatched. Also a tally of the breeds/patterns in the codex. + I'd love to see leaderboards for each reported stat + Sometimes I will click on three coin pouches in a row and be like, "oo, I should check my quests!" only to find that yes, I do have a collect coins quest, but it says 0/6 with 30 minutes left. They refresh every hour or so, I noticed, but one at so many minutes is not recently refreshed. + currently, you can sort your collection by name, value and rarity. I wish you could sort by recently hatched, as well. + I wish there was a popup log I could toggle on to list the birds born/hatched. When they hatch they immediately begin walking or flying around, and I would prefer to know who I'm selling, specifically, when I surrender to the sell all unlocked button. Ps. Thanks for that + Bird breeding is pointless after you have some cash, because you'll just buy eggs. Each egg is cheap compared to selling the bird in it, or what the bird inside could earn for you aviary, so once you can just buy batches of eggs you do. Breeding birds just to sell them isn't fun for me, personally. Also, any breed quests are dead, then, too. + Maybe it's greedy, but more areas on the map? :) original review: I like birds and idlers, so this was an easy choice when I found it in the store. It has not disappointed. I look at these lil birds, soaring around, perching on my fairy lights, and it's nice. I like to click click click the eggs to hatch them. I want to collect all the versions of the birds- I especially want a rainbow peacock. I saw the Dev field requests and make changes, so I think that they're a standup human, and they've made something worth your $4. Have the bird collection you deserve, and make silly amounts of money.

What a lovely game! The birds and backgrounds are quite relaxing to have on a 2nd monitor. It took me 26 hours to complete all of the achievements.
One of the best desktop companions especially if your bird crazy like me! the art style is so enjoyable and I love seeing my little guys go about their day. The one thing I'd say tho is I think the capacity upgrade price is a bit too much compared to how much extra space it gives you but that's it!
This is definitely more for an aesthetic desktop appeal than a game to actually play. The art is cute and having the birds being able to nest on your different windows is adorable, but as a game it lacks a lot of substance. You essentially just buy a bunch of eggs of whatever quality you want, wait for them to hatch (or use an instant potion if you have the money, which you should pretty quickly,) lock the birds you want to keep, sell the rest, breed the ones you kept (by clicking a single button on each bird,) aaaaaand rinse and repeat. And you honestly complete the codex rather quickly. I feel like I could have gotten most of the achievements within a day if I tried hard enough. Now, you could set out to get every bird of every quality, but I don't believe there's any reward linked to that. All in all, recommended for a second screen and if you just REALLY love birds.
Little Aviary is a decent idea that never quite clicked into a game I cared about. The pitch is simple. You get a little aviary that sits on your desktop, birds hatch, fly around, and the whole thing is meant to just live in the background while you do other things. It asks a bit more of you at the start than I expected, but once things got going it settled nicely into my second monitor without demanding much attention. The core loop of hatching, breeding, selling, and decorating never really landed for me though. I bred birds because quests told me to, not because I wanted to. Same with decorating, that was purely for achievements. Nothing about it felt engaging, but it wasn't repetitive either. It just sat there, neutral. The zoom and reposition system was more annoying than I expected. Once you've placed a few decorations, moving or resizing the window gets fiddly and things start getting in the way. On the plus side, watching the birds actually behave was one of the better parts. Visually the game is very nice, and the music is a genuine vibe to have running in the background. The egg hatching sound effect stuck out in a bad way though, it just didn't fit the rest of the game's tone at all. I didn't hit any actual bugs, but the tutorial section rubbed me the wrong way for reasons I can't fully pin down, and the transitions between areas felt a bit off too. Small things, but they added up. For the price, this is a cheap game and it delivers reasonable value for what it costs. I'd still recommend Little Aviary, mainly because it's inexpensive and the concept of a chill desktop companion is a nice one. Just go in expecting some rough edges. It's best suited for people who want ambient background music and cute bird animations more than anyone looking for a deep or gripping idle loop.
I have 100%'ed this game. It is cute. I like the variants of the birds, they're not so rare that it feels IMPOSSIBLE to get like some games, but not so common that it feels unspecial. The birds are cute. The quests are doable without stressing yourself out. I didn't want TOO many decorations anyways because I didn't want the bottom of my screen so cluttered.
