I do recommend Lethal Company, but I honestly have not had much of a reason to play it recently. It is a nice game, but I think it is very dependent on having friends to play with. Without a group of friends to play with, I do not think there is nearly as much reason to play it. It reminds me a little bit of R.E.P.O., especially with the co-op and horror aspects, but I think a lot of the fun comes from playing with other people, messing around, getting scared together, and seeing everything go wrong.
My biggest complaint is the graphics. I understand that the low-quality, pixelated look is part of the art style, but I really do not like how difficult it can be to see things. I know there are ways to change some of the visual settings, but I would really like an option to reduce or completely remove the pixelation. Some areas are already very dark, and the pixelated graphics make it even harder to tell what is happening. I think the game could use better options for brightness and visibility, especially for people who have trouble seeing things clearly.
The game is also pretty difficult for new players. There is a lot to figure out, and you mostly have to learn things by playing. That can be fun when you have friends helping you, but it can also be confusing when you are completely new.
I do like how unpredictable the game can be. Things can go completely wrong out of nowhere, and those unexpected moments are probably one of the best parts of playing with friends. I have also seen a lot of other players say that playing with friends is what makes the game so enjoyable, and I definitely agree.
I do wish there was more content and more things to do, though. I think having more variety would give me more of a reason to keep playing instead of only opening the game when I have friends who want to play.
Overall, I do recommend Lethal Company if you have friends to play with. If you are mostly going to play alone, I would not recommend buying it just for that. It is a fun game, but it really relies on having other people to play with. I would also love to see better visual options, better visibility, and more content added in the future.
