Great game, simple but fun
Boring. Judging by the other reviews it's good I didn't become interested in this game since the majority of content is locked behind an account creation system that doesn't work anymore.
It´s a solid board game. The problem of not getting further than the first campagne has been solved. But in regard to its age, this game is too expensive. If you like ´Risk´, you should buy this game when it is on sale.

Very good game. A simple to understand but deep simultaneous turn based game of strategy. Cant stop playing it.
Real quick review to state that the online registration for the game is removed and the single player campaigns are ALL intact for the PC version of this game. It's safe to buy. But it's pretty crappy with horrible campaign way too tuned and dependent on rng and the cards you get or your enemy gets.
battle can be real drag...
Legends of Callasia, developed and published by Boomzap Inc., is a fantasy strategy game that combines kingdom conquest, hero management, card-based abilities, and board game-inspired mechanics into a surprisingly distinctive experience. Rather than attempting to replicate the complexity of large-scale grand strategy titles, the game focuses on delivering a streamlined yet thoughtful approach to territorial warfare. Its accessible design, colorful fantasy setting, and emphasis on strategic planning make it an appealing option for players who enjoy turn-based conquest games without the overwhelming systems often found in the genre. Set within the magical world of Callasia, the game places players in command of one of several competing factions seeking dominance over the continent. Every campaign revolves around expansion, diplomacy through force, and the careful management of heroes and armies. The premise may sound familiar to strategy veterans, but Legends of Callasia introduces enough unique mechanics to create an identity of its own. From the opening turns, players are encouraged to think not only about military strength but also about long-term positioning, resource control, and the effective use of specialized characters. One of the game's defining features is its simultaneous turn system. Instead of waiting for opponents to complete their actions, all factions submit orders at the same time, with results unfolding simultaneously. This seemingly simple design choice dramatically changes the flow of gameplay. Success depends not only on executing a strong strategy but also on anticipating the plans of rival factions. Players must consider where enemies might attack, how territories may shift, and what opportunities could emerge when multiple actions resolve together. This mechanic creates a constant sense of uncertainty that keeps every turn engaging. Heroes play a central role in shaping a kingdom's success. Each hero belongs to a specific class and possesses unique abilities that influence both warfare and administration. Some excel at leading armies into battle, while others specialize in economic growth, exploration, or support functions. Building an effective roster becomes one of the game's most important strategic considerations. Because heroes gain access to distinct skills and cards, choosing the right combination can significantly impact the outcome of a campaign. This variety encourages experimentation and ensures that different playthroughs can unfold in unique ways. Territorial expansion is equally important. The continent is divided into regions that provide resources, military advantages, and economic benefits. Capturing new lands increases a kingdom's power, but holding those territories requires careful planning. Players must balance aggression with defense, ensuring that newly conquered provinces remain secure against counterattacks. This constant struggle for control creates a satisfying cycle of expansion and consolidation that serves as the backbone of the experience. The card system introduces another layer of tactical depth. Heroes possess cards that can influence battles, strengthen armies, improve kingdoms, or disrupt enemy plans. These abilities often create dramatic swings in momentum, rewarding players who understand how to combine their resources effectively. The cards prevent gameplay from becoming a simple contest of numbers and encourage creative problem-solving. Timing often proves just as important as raw military strength, especially during critical confrontations between powerful factions. Visually, Legends of Callasia adopts a colorful and stylized presentation that resembles a fantasy board game brought to life. The maps are filled with vibrant regions, distinctive kingdoms, and detailed character portraits that help establish the game's identity. While the graphics are not cutting-edge, the artistic direction remains appealing because it prioritizes clarity and charm. Important information is easy to read, allowing players to focus on strategy rather than navigating cluttered interfaces. The campaign offers a substantial amount of content. Story-driven missions gradually introduce mechanics while presenting various challenges across the continent. In addition to the campaign, numerous skirmish maps provide opportunities for replayability. Different factions, hero combinations, and strategic approaches ensure that no two matches play out exactly the same way. Players who enjoy mastering systems and refining strategies will find plenty of reasons to return after completing the main storyline. Another strength lies in the game's accessibility. Many strategy games intimidate newcomers with layers of complex systems and steep learning curves. Legends of Callasia takes a more approachable route, presenting its mechanics in a way that is easy to understand while still allowing room for meaningful decision-making. This balance makes it an excellent entry point for players interested in strategy games but hesitant to commit to more demanding alternatives. The game does have some limitations. Those seeking deeply detailed battlefield control may find the combat resolution somewhat abstract. The focus remains on planning and preparation rather than micromanaging individual units during battles. Additionally, while the artificial intelligence generally provides a competent challenge, experienced strategy players may occasionally notice predictable behavior or missed opportunities. The narrative also serves more as a framework for gameplay than as a deeply developed fantasy epic. Despite these shortcomings, Legends of Callasia succeeds because it understands its strengths. It delivers a focused strategy experience built around meaningful choices, territorial conquest, and clever use of heroes. The simultaneous turn mechanic, card-driven abilities, and kingdom management systems work together to create a gameplay loop that remains engaging across lengthy campaigns and repeat playthroughs. Rather than overwhelming players with complexity, it offers a balanced blend of accessibility and depth that remains enjoyable from beginning to end. For fans of fantasy warfare, digital board games, and turn-based strategy titles, Legends of Callasia is an underrated gem that deserves greater recognition. Its combination of strategic planning, colorful presentation, and unique gameplay systems creates a rewarding experience that stands apart from many of its contemporaries. While it may not redefine the genre, it successfully delivers an entertaining and thoughtful conquest adventure that rewards careful planning and tactical foresight. Rating: 7/10
This game was a honestly about a 3 star that I bought in 2016 because I had a bit of fun with it. At some point they changed "full game" to DLC and removed the full game from what I had already purchased. Strong 0. Could change my review, but company seems uninterested in replying to reviews or fixing their errors from what I'm reading. Edit: They did correct their error.
This is a great Game ! A must have !
