About
You're now the lead writer for Juno's World, a perfectly normal sitcom in which nothing strange or horrible happens, ever!
We're so happy you've chosen permanent employment. Management has infinite faith in your ability to steer our production team towards our mysterious and important endgame. You'll be guiding four teenagers -- Juno, Cat, Daniel, and Remy -- through the trials and travails of high school life.
Using our patented "Ratings(tm)" system, you'll make decisions that keep them entertainingly unhappy! But not too unhappy, or they'll break. But also not too relaxed, or they'll fight back. We can't have that, no! How will we ever reach syndication if the entire project collapses?
A visual novel from the creators of Arcade Spirits, Penny Larceny, and The Shadow Over Cyberspace!
Four human teens with Teen Problems! And one hamster. Can you help them find their way?
Eight episodes of wacky shenanigans and soul-crushing real-world drama! You choose the episode order, you choose who to focus on!
Relationships, romances, and ratings -- all leading to the ending you desire! Will you fight back against Management, or comply with the job?
Classical cartoony visuals and music, to tickle your nostalgia bones!
Full text-to-speech support for disability access, using NVDA if available! Just tap the V key to activate before you start a new game.
The promise of utter annihilation if you fail in your task! Doesn't that sound like fun?
You don't want to be part of an eternal cosmic hive mind, yoked to your typewriter, forced to tune sitcom scripts until your continued existence is determined to be redundant and your soul gets re-absorbed into Management?
You want out...?
There is no out. There is only in.

As many people said, it's writing is very soapboxy (which from being a sitcom based thing it is understandable, also i find the anachronism there a confusing thing), but was enough to make me get in a one week long hyperfocus. Needless to say; absolute cinema.

Came for the horror and sitcoms, stayed to 100% the game. The other reviews are correct that it can be heavy-handed and soapboxy, but I think the un-subtlety and camp fits the laugh track sitcom theme just fine. The gameplay and characters definitely made me want to check out the rest of the games in the same universe.

Overall, I liked this game. The art is fantastic, some of the writing is geniuenly really funny and charming, and the voice acting, when present, was a major highlight. But, I'm not sure if I'll be replaying this one. I enjoyed the experience, but it was far from perfect. While I praise the creativity of the premise, it's sometimes confusing and a bit hard to follow. I feel like this problem boils down to too many ideas at once happening in this narrative. The three main themes/elements of the plot are strong within their own right, but are a bit messy when they come together, and sometimes don't fit super well. Additionally, while I really resonate with the political messages in this game, the writing can be quite on the nose at times, and sometimes it pulls you out of the immersion a bit (though that could be intentional). But for a free experience, you certainly get a lot of value out of Laugh Track. I wasn't expecting the amount of depth and length of this game, but I was pleasantly suprised. I can also see how it would have a lot of replayability. I look forward to seeing what the writers and artists do next - while this game isn't perfect, there sure is a lot of passion and talent put into it.
A very well written little visual novel, with genuinely comedic moments. I loved the characters and their chemistry with each other. There are multiple endings, but I only did one and felt that was satisfactory for me. 10/10. Would recommend for BBQ'ing, beer-in-hand Centrist-Chads
A wonderfully well targeted horror thar got to my core. One again this studio makes a well written undeniably queer game that builds off their previous ones, while allowing new players to experiance it with fresh eyes and no confusion. I feel like the ending felt a little... dissonant, but excited for more Fiction Factory games.
Certain metaphors and allegories are very on the nose and can break immersion but they don't at all subtract from enjoyability of the story and plot. Despite that the worldbuilding is interesting and alluring and had me wanting to learn more about it, and with plenty of plot elements that had me wondering how everything I do will affect the characters most of the way through playing the game. There are horror elements that made me feel uncomfortable at times, but in a good way, forcing me to question how much I'm willing to push and torment the lives of characters to meet my goal in the end. The only real complaint here is some choices really force you to pick between choosing something that breaks your own moral compass, or force you to deviate from the ending you ultimately want. Maybe that's by design but it can be disappointing when the game gives you options that forces you to either enable genuinely terrible practices, or risk losing ratings/gain ratings. I'd recommend this game if you enjoy visual novels, are tired of the current state of the world, and want a funny but relevant narrative.
How is there so much content to this game that covers so many different current events and do it in such a funny and heartwarming way?
very fun!! the skip button is a tad laggy(?) at times , but i loved going through the different routes regardless. it's a great free game to play , especially visual novel wise. felt very polished! just keep in mind the direction it goes in terms of story can get political , so if that's something that bothers you , this probably isn't your thing. objectively a nice , long-paced visual novel , which is something that i'd like to see more often :)
