Major: Management
Nationality: Republic of Francien
Mandarin Name:
Marie's upbringing was anything but ordinary.
Born in Villeclaire, Republic of Francien, she moved with her family to Shanghe City, People’s Republic of Dong Yuan, at the age of five due to her father’s career relocation.
This decision, driven by her father’s expansion of his consulting business in Asia, completely altered the course of her life.
From then on, her world was defined by exclusivity and privilege—
living in a high-rise apartment in the city center with a swimming pool and climate-controlled gym,
dining at Shanghe’s top fine-dining restaurants, and wearing designer clothes handpicked by personal stylists.
She attended the most expensive international school in Shanghe, spending summer breaks in top-tier private tutoring sessions and college prep camps.
Even her Chinese name, “Mei Lin,” was no casual choice—
it was meticulously crafted by her father to reflect phonetic harmony, meaningful connotations, and a sense of cultural fusion between France and China.
Fluent in French, Mandarin, and English, she carries herself with a kind of textbook elegance.
To others, she has always been that “perfect girl”—impeccable background, striking looks, and polished manners.
With such a head start and advantages,
one might expect her to enroll in a prestigious international university and glide effortlessly along an elite path.
Yet in reality, she chose Glenn State University—a moderately ranked public institution with little renown.
Still, this never became a burden to her.
After all, when it comes to career advancement, connections are everything—
and she had long secured her place in her father’s company.
She chose to major in management—
a respectable, safe, and faultless choice,
as if following a prewritten script for a “future successor.”
Given her background and poise, blending into the campus elite—whether in sororities or fraternities—
should come naturally.
Right?

Age: 21
Year: Senior
Major: RPTM (Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management)
Nationality: People's Republic of Dong Yuan
Mandarin Name:
Hui Ying, from Chendu City, Sanchuan Province, is always the life of the party.
She's the type who makes you think, "This girl is different," from the very first glance—dressed in cute, stylish clothes, yet her words always carry a sarcastic twist.
She's had a quirky and unpredictable personality since childhood, a master at turning "boring" into "fun."
She dislikes rules and rejects conventional scripts. For her, life needs to come with a side of "entertainment."
At Glenn State University, she chose Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management as her major—
for the simplest reason: it seemed easy.
While others choose majors for their career prospects, she picked this one because it "sounded undemanding."
If you ask her what she actually studies, she can't even answer clearly herself: "Uh... Recreation? Tourism? And something Management, was it?"
Her daily motto can be summed up in one phrase:
"Dive in first, ask questions later."
You can often find her sprawled out in a corner of the student center,
lounging in a decidedly lazy posture, wearing pink sunglasses and sipping an iced tea, never failing to quip, "A sunny day like this is just too perfect for attending class."
While she may come off as careless and indifferent about everything,
perhaps only she truly knows—
behind all those casual "whatever"s and easy smiles,
how much still lies buried beneath.

Age: 22
Year: Senior
Major: Finance + Economics Minor
Nationality: People's Republic of Dong Yuan
Mandarin Name:
Zhang Xing Ting comes from Jiangzhou City, Zhehe Province—a classic river-town of Dong Yuan.
As an only child, she grew up helping her parents with household duties, often keeping accounts with her accountant father, abacus in hand.
Perhaps from that time on, her life’s direction was already being written into those ledger sheets long ago.
When she came to Glenn State University, she chose Finance and Accounting without hesitation.
She is widely known as a top student and the very definition of "dependable":
she consistently ranks near the top of her class and currently serves as the HR Director of the Dong Yuan Students and Scholars Association (DSSA).
New students often refer to her in private as "our most reassuring Senior Xing Ting."
But her life really does feel like one of clockwork efficiency—
her schedule perpetually packed with classes, student council work, autumn recruitment prep…
While others chat about parties, she’s fine-tuning the color scheme of a budget spreadsheet.
She always says she "prefers to spend time on what matters."
But now, the final semester of her senior year has quietly arrived.
And she’s begun asking herself a question she never before dared to voice:
“If I slow down… will the world wait for me, just this once?”

This game was very enjoyable and cute, I heartily recommend to anyone who would enjoy a romance visual novel.
= OVERVIEW = While it clearly takes direct inspiration from similar games powered by RenPy, the standout quality of this game is that the thoughtfulness and authenticity of the writing takes clear precedent over the typically predictable and convenient waifu setup that is associated with this genre of games. The writer clearly draws from personal experiences to some degree as the specificity of certain phrases, words, and behaviours cannot purely be the product of research or entirely drawn from common media. = CHARACTERS & CONTENT = The main female characters exist in such a way where it doesn't feel like they exist purely for the fantasy of the male protagonist. You get the impression they had a life before suddenly meeting you, and this is used to effect several times throughout the game. Each primary female interest has a specific set of character behaviours such as masking or bravado, and it's up to you to determine what it is they're really saying. Their personalities run surprisingly deep and as you get to know them more you realise they are written thoroughly more humanised than sexualised, despite the sprites. Of special note are the supporting male characters who, instead of being momentary afterthoughts to facilitate the plot, become just as likeable if not more likeable than some of the girls despite also having clear character flaws. Shoutout to Chad Smith. There are also many humorous references to real life countries and establishments, which may be lost if you are not familiar with Western brands or places (particularly American). I found myself silently laughing at my screen many times throughout the game in response to character retorts or unexpected event outcomes, as the writer has managed to incorporate a blend of crass American humour as well as bone dry humour and bring these largely 2D sprites to life in a way I'd describe as successful. = SUMMARY = Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game. It made me feel a certain way, and by definition I'd say that made it worth the time. If I had to nitpick one thing, it's that there is barely any room for error if you want to graduate while also being with a girl as getting even 70% of questions right on average will result in a low GPA (as a non American I don't even know what the relevance of GPA is or what is considered a good or bad GPA). 9/10

Really enjoyed my time with Last Term, First Love. The game has a really nice atmosphere, and I especially liked the interactions between the characters. The story takes its time instead of rushing everything, which makes the relationships feel more natural and gives the whole game a nice sense of nostalgia. The characters are also pretty charming, and I found myself genuinely wanting to see how their stories would develop. If you're into school romance, character-driven stories, or just looking for something relaxing to play, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try. A lovely little game, and definitely worth supporting the developer. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
I had high hopes and they were cruelly disappointed. tl;dr: it's not at all terrible (and it is very pretty), but a LOT should have been cut. (yes, I know how ironic that is given the lenght of my review...) Some positives: I liked the characters (Chad my man, seeing him
talk normally
the first time the girls show up was comedy gold. Bea is visibly bored sometimes and it's refreshing to see her not even pretend. The others are nice too) And I enjoyed spending time with the girls! (I didn't even hate it with the guys, it's the group scenes that really failed for me.) I wish we'd see the relationship with Bea develop more, since she says it did, but at least it was fun. Honestly, after my first playthrough (a study route), it was reasonably fun - I skipped the group scenes and got to enjoy the dates, so it was a much better experience. Just not entirelly worth the time spent waiting. Now the bad The gameplay is flawed, which is no small feat for a visual novel. You need good grades, and you can improve them by studying (rather than hanging out with girls) and doing well on tests (a series of questions about topics you'd better know yourself, because you never hear of them in the aforementioned studying). But also sometimes you get random "Due to your actions, your GPA has lowered/improved". These are not tied to your actions as a player. The game forces you to go to a party and then blames you for being hungover without giving you a single choice. Which brings me to my second complaint: choices barely matter, and there's very few of them (except the minigames, which are unnecessary and I hate them on principle. Let me flirt with words, not by picking the four correct cocktail ingredients! Not that you need to succeed...) And the third, perhaps biggest problem: big chunks of the story are BORING (and unavoidable, they happen in-between dates). Tell me when I asked for sci-fi roleplaying, and tell me when I asked to do math to save a spaceship I don't give a damn about (math which had to be explained first in a 4th-wall-breaking way, in case the scene wasn't uninteresting enough). (Did we need a detailed tour of the campus, also no, but at least the girls slipped in a few lines about themselves...) I also didn't care at all for the "drinking partying every day" culture, but I can count that as personal preference. ALSO did I miss what the deal with transferring was? Are you supposed to transfer to a new campus once your grades are good enough? What if they never are? What is this elite campus? This is the only area where worldbuilding could have been helpful! (or you could just not invent an education system to begin with, tbh). Did I just blink during the one line that explained this? + the skipping is so sloooow. I'd have liked to try different ending variants (graduate/don't graduate with each girl), but I don't have that sort of patience... My first playthrough was like a 2/10, the following three maybe 7/10.
