"LaserShotz" feels a lot more like a homework assignment or a tech demo than a fully fledged game. It's a simplistic top down 2D arena shooter, which, while genuinely made and sincere, lacks a lot of any interest because it's not really doing anything almost every other game on Steam does better. There's a few joke reviews unfortunately, giving this a misleading positive review score, as reviewers make fun of the game due to the simplistic nature, zero player base and generally mediocre quality. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? In this case no.. due to the mediocre quality and dead multiplayer scene, it's not worth it.

I'd recommend this game, it's a simple looking but fun arena shooter. It's fast paced and requires some positioning. You can also choose to quick play or make your own custom lobby. You can select two weapons among 4 and battle on 2 arenas. The controls are simple and keybinds are customisable. And it's free. Overall, i think it's a nice game if you're looking for quick games with friends or if you are more competitive and looking to climb the ladder.

[strike]Please fix the servers. It is impossible to queue up for a game. I've been trying to play with my friends but it just wont work. [/strike] Edit: Servers are fixed! Very fun game to play with friends! The shotgun is broken i love it!
