I tried the first game years ago, but I never got very far before giving up. Then I saw how much better Kingdom Come: Deliverance II looked, so I grabbed it during a sale.
Best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decision ever.
I’m writing this while I’m still in what feels like the early game, and I’m already completely addicted.
At one point, I honestly thought:
“Wait... is this really the end of the introduction?”
Because I had already spent dozens of hours playing. Then I finished the wedding, got captured, got tortured, and suddenly realized:
“Oh... so THIS is where the real game actually begins.”
What the hell have I been doing all this time?!
Well...
Helping random villagers.
Learning new skills.
Exploring every corner of the map.
Getting distracted by every side quest I walked past.
Playing dice for way longer than any reasonable person should.
And every night... “recovering” the money I spent on training by quietly taking it back. 😂
Seriously, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dangerous if you’re easily distracted.
The world feels incredibly alive. NPCs actually have personalities, daily routines, and their own little stories. Many of them even show up again later. I found myself remembering people not because of their names, but because of what they did or what happened between us.
The choices are also much more interesting than I expected. They aren’t always just “good” or “evil.” Sometimes you genuinely try to do the right thing, think you made the best possible choice...
And then everything goes horribly wrong anyway.
Combat is still unforgiving, exactly as it should be. Even after becoming much stronger, Henry never turns into some unstoppable superhero. Make one stupid mistake or let a few enemies surround you, and you’re still completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
And yes...
I may have spent an unreasonable amount of time collecting special dice instead of saving the kingdom.
No regrets. The kingdom can wait. I need my lucky dice.
Also, my English isn’t great, but don’t let that stop you from playing.
I definitely don’t understand every conversation, and sometimes I have to guess what the hell is happening from the context. But somehow, I’m still having an amazing time. The game does a great job of giving you enough information to figure things out as you go.
Will I still feel the same once I reach the middle or late game?
I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea. Looooooooool. 😂
But right now, if you enjoy immersive RPGs where exploration, conversations, side quests, and your own stupid curiosity constantly drag you away from the main story, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is absolutely worth playing.
Now excuse me...
I need to go check if that chest has anything worth stealing again. 👀🎲
Wait... no, no, no.
I need to go save the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kingdom!
