Reviews
It would be great if this game had VR support.
honestly quite fun and the story was memorable

Utterly atrocious, unfathomable, annoying console-newbie UI, makes it almost impossible to work anything out.
One button mushing. Cheap design. This game insulting me as a gamer.
Yep, lovely and fun enough to pass a good time.

I Kemono'd all over the ecosystem
"Kemono Friends Cellien May Cry" is a copyright infringing fan-fiction about Devil May Cry (copyright Capcom, 2001). I'm not sure why people haven't worked it out yet, but you can't just say "Oh it's a fan game so copyright law doesn't apply to me at all.". You can't just take someone else's copyright protected intellectual property and publish derivative works for it. You cannot use "fanfiction!" as an excuse for infringing international copyright law. The judge will not be amused. This only remains on Steam until the DMCA takedown hits. What do you do in the game? Third person brawling in a lightweight "RPG" themed fan-fiction about all the characters from Devil May Cry who are secretly the developers imaginary girlfriends. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used as "ez-mode" for content creation, as the developer tried to do here. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.
A very fun game that every Kemono Friends fan should play at least once. 10/10
