Kellogg's Gut Bacteria Reef is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok, was understandable. You take a ride in a submarine through the human digestive system. Has some interactive parts. The narrator is Australian English, so they say some things differently. It is a short ride ( 7 minutes ). Ok for kids to play. It is branded allover by Kellogg. Try it, if you like health and human biology.
Short Free experience that is more of an Ad than a educational tool Aside from that, its pretty "Ok". You start inside a submarine (play sitting down recommended), then its 3 scenes, the mouth, the small, large intestines and a quick scene at the... final part. During each part a friendly voice tells you a bit of educational talk about what happens in each section, There are 2 short interactive parts, one where you build ammo for good bacteria by grabbing some items and placing them on their designated spots (one item being kellogs cereal), and then the 2nd part is using that ammo to feed good bacteria using a sort of slingshot mechanic that works fine. A whole run lasts ~6min. Also, there is a screen during the game thats supposed to show me a map of where i am on the body, and probably other info, but it was just grey the whole time, that the only annoying bug i could find. Performance was ok with a 1080, except for a short big dip in the shooting section. Recommended because though aimed at the younger kids it was an ok way to pass 6minutes. The voice acting was excellent, the writing was very good, it does tells a bunch of educational stuff, and even if it has a ton of advertising, for a free experience it was fine.
I got vored, subjected to forced brand placement and shat out at terminal velocity 10/10 got all my friends to play it
Has changed my outlook on life forever, gonna go buy some cornflakes now.
This game is decent. Its best aspect is a realistic depiction of the inside lining of the intestine and colon, and the fundamentals are communicated very well. However, they presume a simple relationship between diet and the microbiota that does not reflect the reality. Considering this is made to push Kellogg products, however, that is to be expected. Don't expect a long experience.
