This a sad non recommendation for me. When I was growing up I used to use my dads computer everyday to play this, I absolutely loved it growing up, but not anymore. It doesn't run well on a new computer but I guess it makes sense with the age of the game. Do not spend your money on this.
Keep the Balance is a puzzle game developed by Item Multimedia, Ltd. and published by UniqueGames Publishing GmbH that takes a simple concept and transforms it into an entertaining test of logic, concentration, and quick decision-making. Although its premise appears straightforward at first glance, the game steadily introduces layers of complexity that make balancing objects far more engaging than one might initially expect. Built around a colorful and whimsical presentation, it challenges players to maintain equilibrium on a giant scale while dealing with an ever-growing collection of unusual items and unexpected disruptions. The heart of the game revolves around a balance scale that must be kept stable as various objects arrive from both sides. Every item possesses a specific weight, requiring players to think carefully before deciding where it should be placed. Success depends on maintaining a delicate equilibrium while continuously adapting to new situations. The game's mechanics are easy to understand, making it accessible to newcomers, yet the increasing speed and complexity of later stages provide enough challenge to keep puzzle enthusiasts invested. What begins as a simple exercise in weight management gradually becomes a demanding test of observation and planning. One of the game's most appealing qualities is its creative use of objects. Players encounter everything from animals to household items, each contributing to the quirky personality of the experience. The weight values alone are not always the only concern, as certain objects can influence others in unexpected ways. This feature encourages experimentation and forces players to think beyond simple arithmetic. Learning how different objects interact becomes an important part of mastering the game, adding strategic depth that elevates it above a basic balancing simulator. The visual style embraces a cheerful cartoon aesthetic that suits the game's lighthearted nature. Bright environments, amusing object designs, and playful animations help create an atmosphere that remains enjoyable even during challenging moments. The presence of the Joker character adds additional excitement by introducing unpredictable events that can disrupt carefully planned arrangements. These surprises prevent gameplay from becoming too routine and create moments of tension that require fast reactions and adaptability. Another strength of Keep the Balance is the way it subtly incorporates educational elements into its gameplay. Players frequently perform mental calculations while evaluating the weight of incoming objects and predicting the consequences of their placement. Rather than presenting mathematics as a lesson, the game naturally integrates problem-solving into its core mechanics. This approach makes it both entertaining and mentally stimulating, offering a rewarding experience for players who enjoy puzzle games that challenge their thinking skills. As the game progresses, the difficulty increases at a steady pace. Later levels introduce more objects, faster decision-making requirements, and increasingly complicated scenarios. Maintaining control becomes significantly harder as the scale fills with items and unexpected interactions occur more frequently. This progression ensures that the gameplay remains engaging throughout the experience and provides a satisfying sense of accomplishment when difficult stages are successfully completed. Despite its strengths, the game does show its age in certain areas. Players accustomed to modern puzzle titles may find the presentation and overall structure somewhat dated. The gameplay focuses heavily on its central mechanic, and while that mechanic is enjoyable, the lack of significant variation outside of balancing challenges can occasionally lead to repetition. Additionally, some players may wish for more modes, features, or long-term progression systems to extend replay value. Even with these limitations, Keep the Balance remains a charming and distinctive puzzle game. Its combination of mathematical thinking, strategic object placement, humorous presentation, and escalating challenge creates an experience that stands apart from many contemporary puzzle releases. The game's simple premise proves surprisingly effective, demonstrating how a well-designed mechanic can remain entertaining long after its original release. For players who appreciate classic puzzle games and enjoy experiences that reward concentration and logical thinking, Keep the Balance offers a satisfying and memorable challenge. It successfully turns the act of balancing objects into a compelling gameplay loop filled with tension, humor, and strategic decision-making. While it may not possess the scope or production values of modern puzzle titles, its originality and engaging mechanics allow it to remain enjoyable years after its debut. Rating: 5/10
-If you have a multi-monitor setup, you will either have to unplug your extra monitors or disable them using Windows+P. -The in-game music doesn't seem to be functional. -For some reason you have to use Right-Shift to type certain capital letters in the name entry. I'm probably forgetting some things but those are the main issues of this game that stick out to me.
This is a game I played when I was a child. It brings back a lot of nostalgic memories. However, for some reason, the background music (BGM) didn't play. I could hear the sound effects though. I would be happy if I could hear the BGM. Thank you very much.
