Katto: Rising Tides is a fun little free-to-play jump-and-run title that delivers exactly what it sets out to do. It’s a short, simple platformer with a handful of levels, a few achievements to chase, four enemy types, and a final boss. Controls work with both keyboard/mouse and controller, and overall the experience is light, accessible, and enjoyable. For a project that’s not only free but also in Early Access, it’s surprisingly solid. The character designs are charming, and there are some delightful surprises—like a Streetshark-style boss who sounds straight out of Inspector Gadget. It’s goofy in the best way. The main rough spot right now is the platforming around climbing nets, which can be unreliable to grab and a bit stiff once you’re on them. The player movement in general could use a bit more weight and polish, but it’s hard to complain too much given the scope and price tag. If you’re looking for a quick, fun platformer with personality, Katto: Rising Tides is absolutely worth a playthrough.

It's a fun, short game for free. One thing that I don't understand is the required specs. I'm sure there are things in the background happening, but I as a player can't SEE the need for high specs. No unusual graphic prowess here. I would like to see some extra eyecandy in a scene that beats the hell out of my hardware. Probably just poor optimization as it is essentially a school project.
It's a very fun game to play, i really liked the level designs and the story while simple, it's very cute. The whole experience reminds me of playstation 1 games in a good way, very nostalgic. My only suggestion is that for the climb on rope parts, after the first one i would expect the tutorial to not appear again? But it appeared every time I was on one and also regarding these rope-walls, sometimes Kato gets stuck right at the end (if u go up) of some forcing u to release. I really look forward to further developments if u decide to continue this project (the ending would point that way) as we barely got to meet the characters and know them :3
