Worth Playing: ★★★★☆ (Always check the final verdict for the caveats).
Writing & Story — ★★★☆☆
You play as a doctor captured by a pirate captain, and the story follows that dynamic through a short series of choices and endings.
It’s a simple setup. There are multiple endings, and you can reach all of them in about 20 minutes. In fact, I somehow managed to hit the bad ending in under two minutes, which says a lot about how quickly things can shift depending on what you pick (pirates can be frightening!).
The writing is straightforward. It moves quickly from one moment to the next, which fits the length, but it also means there isn’t much time to build tension or develop the relationship beyond the immediate situation. It almost feels like a snapshot rather than a full story, and you are left to wonder what might happened to the two characters after?
Representation — ★★★★☆
The focus is on the dynamic between the doctor and the pirate captain and delivers as a BL Visual Novel.
It leans into that power imbalance and plays around it through the different endings. There isn’t much exploration beyond that relationship. What you see is what you get, and it doesn’t try to expand outside of it.
Gameplay — ★★★☆☆
This is a short visual novel with a few branching choices.
You read, make a decision, and reach an ending. Then you go back and try again to see the other outcomes. Because of how short it is, replaying doesn’t feel like a chore.
Art & Direction — ★★★★☆
The CGs are limited, but they are the highlight.
Each scene is well drawn and placed at key moments, which gives them more impact. The character designs are clean, and the overall presentation feels polished despite the small scope.
Do I recommend it? — ★★★★☆
Yes, but only if you are looking to play a casual short BL Visual Novel.
It took me approximately 20 minutes to see everything. The price reflects that, but it’s still something to keep in mind. Despite this, let’s just say… piracy isn’t the only thing happening on that ship. So you are bound to enjoy the content if you like simple, romantic Visual Novels.
