Just by watching the previews it much looks like "Clash of Panzer" improved version, if you are into small android games which i kind of like, a get away from the big games of WoT/Blitz, AW and War Thunder. (Have not downloaded this game to play just my observation of the previews...I will post review when/if played) as of Aug 4, 2023

iStorm is a free-to-play online military combat game that combines tanks, helicopters, missile warfare, and large-scale multiplayer battles into a fast-paced arcade-style battlefield experience. Inspired heavily by modern armored warfare games, it focuses on accessible combat and vehicle progression rather than strict military simulation. The game’s biggest appeal comes from the fantasy of controlling modern combat vehicles in chaotic online battles filled with explosions, missile strikes, and combined-arms warfare. While the experience shows clear ambition, it also struggles with technical limitations, balancing problems, and the challenges that often affect smaller multiplayer-focused projects. The game offers a large selection of military vehicles modeled after real-world armored hardware. Players can unlock and operate tanks, helicopters, support vehicles, and reconnaissance units inspired by famous military machines such as the Abrams, T90, Apache, and Ka-50. Progression revolves around unlocking stronger vehicles and upgrading existing ones through repeated multiplayer battles. For players who enjoy military technology and long-term vehicle progression systems, the variety of unlockable equipment becomes one of the game’s strongest features. Combat emphasizes speed and accessibility over realism. Tanks move aggressively across battlefields, missiles lock onto targets quickly, and helicopter combat creates constant aerial threats above the ground war. Unlike slower tactical military simulators, iStorm focuses on explosive arcade-style encounters where matches are filled with rapid destruction and nonstop movement. Helicopters especially add chaos to battles, allowing players to bombard enemy forces from the air while ground vehicles attempt to counterattack with anti-air weaponry and missile systems. One of the more entertaining aspects of the game is the combined-arms warfare structure. Battles rarely involve only tanks fighting head-on. Instead, helicopters, artillery systems, mines, support vehicles, and missile launchers all contribute to the battlefield simultaneously. This variety creates moments where matches feel unpredictable and energetic, especially during larger engagements where explosions and missile trails dominate the screen. The fast pacing helps the game remain exciting during shorter sessions because players are almost constantly engaged in combat. The progression system follows a familiar free-to-play structure where players earn currency and unlock increasingly powerful vehicles over time. Vehicle trees encourage players to experiment with different combat styles depending on whether they prefer armored durability, mobility, ranged attacks, or support-oriented gameplay. Tanks offer direct firepower and survivability, while helicopters provide speed and powerful missile-based attacks capable of disrupting enemy formations quickly. Visually, iStorm delivers mixed results. Some vehicle models and combat effects still look respectable for a free-to-play title, especially during intense firefights filled with explosions and missile impacts. Tanks and helicopters generally carry enough detail to appeal to military enthusiasts, and large-scale battles occasionally create impressive moments of visual chaos. However, environments often feel repetitive and somewhat outdated, while interface design and animations lack the polish seen in more established multiplayer combat games. The sound design contributes reasonably well to the atmosphere of mechanized warfare. Cannon fire, missile launches, explosions, and helicopter rotors create a battlefield environment that feels loud and aggressive. Audio feedback during combat helps reinforce the intensity of the matches, particularly during larger vehicle clashes where multiple attacks occur simultaneously. While the sound design is not especially advanced, it succeeds at supporting the arcade-style action the game aims to deliver. Despite these strengths, many of the game’s problems become increasingly noticeable during extended play sessions. Vehicle balance is inconsistent, particularly regarding helicopters and high-tier upgraded units. Players with advanced equipment often gain significant advantages over newcomers, creating frustrating matchmaking experiences for less experienced players. The progression system also leans heavily into grinding, meaning unlocking stronger vehicles can eventually become repetitive and time-consuming. Technical issues and declining player activity further hurt the experience. Multiplayer-focused games depend heavily on maintaining active communities, and iStorm has struggled to sustain a large player base over time. Low player counts can negatively affect matchmaking quality and make finding balanced matches more difficult. Some community discussions have also criticized the lack of long-term support and uneven content updates compared to other regional versions of the game. Another issue is the game’s lack of originality compared to more established vehicle combat titles. Many mechanics and progression systems feel heavily inspired by larger military MMOs, making iStorm occasionally struggle to establish a distinct identity beyond the inclusion of helicopters and faster pacing. Players familiar with similar online tank warfare games will immediately recognize many familiar systems and structures throughout the experience. The game’s arcade-heavy approach may also divide players depending on expectations. Those searching for highly realistic military simulation may find the controls, physics, and combat systems too simplified. On the other hand, players who enjoy fast-paced accessible vehicle combat may appreciate the game’s willingness to prioritize action and spectacle over realism. What ultimately keeps iStorm somewhat enjoyable is the simple excitement of controlling modern military hardware in chaotic online battles. Even with its flaws, the game occasionally delivers entertaining moments where tanks, helicopters, missiles, and explosions combine into satisfying large-scale warfare. The free-to-play structure also makes it easy for curious players to experiment with the game without major investment. iStorm feels like a project with strong ideas that never fully reached its potential. Its vehicle variety, combined-arms combat, and arcade pacing create occasional flashes of excitement, but repetitive grinding, balancing issues, and technical shortcomings prevent the experience from standing alongside the stronger games within the genre. Still, for players who enjoy modern military vehicles and casual online warfare, there is enough entertainment here to make short sessions enjoyable despite the game’s rough edges. Rating: 5/10
