Did not finish the game as of right now, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The game captures this analog feeling of operating a massive piece of artillery very nicely; it also features a wide variety of missions (having to shoot a moving train is a highlight for me) and surprisingly also has some thought-provoking plot that makes you question whether you are on the right side of history. On a side note - if endgame contains atomic shells, would that make Iron Nest the first Metal Gear? I hope it does.
The gameplay loop as it stands right now is fun enough to finish the campaign, but once you get the hang of the basic math involved it all becomes very routine. Each shell type has the same ballistics, the spotters apparently have a margin of error but every firing solution I calculated was bang on, enemies take ages to counter-shell so you have no rush to finish. The only real challenge occurs in 2 levels that can overwhelm the first time around...but only the first time. If there was more varied mission types, terrain, and actual need to use the targeting computer, it would be far more enjoyable long term. Definitely a "one and done" game at the moment, but I know the devs have a lot on the roadmap so we'll see how it evolves.
Glory to the Monarchy! It's a game about firing a giant ass turret. You'll know whether you'll love it or not from screenshots.
Its pretty good.
i never thought i'd have this much fun bombing people the whole gameplay loop is really enjoyable. while one could argue it gets a bit staler at the end, i can also say that i played through this game without a lot of time in between play sessions (which is a testament to how addicting turning valves and figuring out bearings can be). visually the game is solid, the Iron Nest itself feels heavy and powerful like intended, thanks to the VFX. the music is also really dope, and it's fun having to manually slide the vinyls onto the player. the only negative thing i have to say regarding the audio is that when the counter battery timer is on, its music clashes very uncerimoniously with whatever disc is playing, which kind of ruins immersion a bit and sounds bad - but, other than that, i have no gripes with the music or audio. i hope to see more of IRON NEST in the future, and the roadmap looks promising. a big thank you to the two guys behind the game for bringing such a cool concept to life, and GLORY TO CASTILLE!
Glory to Castile !
怎么存档?单局流程相对较长而且费精力,死了就重开实在是绷不住
Very fun Steam Punk alternative Spanish Civil war artillery puzzle game. Has variety of missions from very chill to quite challenging (last two missions). The gameplay loop, while repetetive is quite fun (nothing beats the feeling of pulling the cannon trigger after you do all the plotting and calibrations). Game is priced well comparing to content and gameplay time (10 hours).
Boom is good
