hi 2017
Into the War is absolutely broken and has been abandoned by the developer. I was instantly awarded the only achievement upon launching the game. In order to even write this review I needed to increase my playtime, so I managed to navigate the awful main menu interface and launch my own private server. The game actually seems like it could have been fun. I feel it would appeal to those who love high-mobility twitch shooters. I doubt the developer intended for it to be played that way but it is indeed possible and would be easy to realise with some further polish. That's where the optimism ends. As far as I can tell the Recon sniper rifle has no magnification. I don't know if there are any explosives, if there's more than the two standard weapons, or any melee attacks. There is no buffer to firing the pistol, so it will unload as fast as you can click. Upon being shot gasoline canisters will not explode. I'm not able to enter any kind of key configuration to check what the keybindings are as the main menu settings are inaccessible. The mouse sensitivity is really weird, so is the FoV slider, no doubt this would evoke some motion sickness in a lot of players as I can't find a way to disable the extreme head bobbing. Into the War feels like an unfinished Unity prototype. There are untextured objects, I assume they're pickups? It wouldn't be hard to believe that most of this game was built with the aid of third-party scripts and assets. There's stuff in here like "Spectating Ragdoll2(Clone)" upon death... it's obviously an unfinished game. It's not surprising that this game was abandoned so quickly. It is surprising that it was allowed on Steam in the first place.

It always dissapoints me when I have to write a negative review (in fact, I think I've only written two of them), but this game deserves it. Not because it's broken, no (even thought it is), but because it's been literally abandoned. If you go to the forums, you'll see a post from the dev explaining the situation, and how he received a lot of hate and such, which is why he decided to abandon it. He even took down the game only for it to reappear later, and made a post telling people not to buy it. On one hand, that seems reasonable; as he didn't try to scam anyone by selling a broken game. On the other, simply abandoning a project because some people disliked it or whatever isn't correct, in my opinion. Now, to properly get into a review, and talk about the actual game, there's not much to say. Pretty much the whole game is broken or buggy. The main menu has overlapping buttons, and none of them work, other than the Multiplayer and Exit buttons. I guess the dev wanted to add a singleplayer campaign but never got around to it. When you get to multiplayer, it's fairly simple: pick a class, pick a side, and off to battle with you. It doesn't offer much, as there's only two maps, and a handful of gamemodes typical for most shooters: capture the flag, team deathmatch, and free for all. I tried the capture the flag one, as there weren't any active servers, and picking up the enemy flag (represented by a flag on a large flagpole) actually had you carrying the whole flagpole, which simply followed you around. All in all, this seems like a really early concept for a game that never got off the ground.
Game is dead for a good reason. It's very bad.
Dead game, you can't even buy it anymore! What a joke....
On the main menu there is Single Player, Multiplayer, Loadout, Options, Credits and Exit. Only the Multiplayer and Exit buttons work. And there were 0 servers under multiplayer so your only option is either create a server and play with yourself on a empty map or exit game. I'll let you make that choice.
Apparently, a parkour FPS. The only parkour part is double jumping. But yea, abandoned at early alpha state, dead, no idea how I got it in my backlog, goodbye, bai-bai.
This is not a game by any means. It's a very early pre-alpha demo footage of something that gladly never got even finished and never will. Abandonware. Buy only for game collecting purposes.
Dead game and something that even if you could buy it you should avoid like the plague
No one is playing it.
