Graphics: 10/10, super soft art style and animations Audio: 10/10, just great soundtrack, eargasmic hitting and inventory sounds Gameplay: 9/10, controls are not very comfortable, Q/E keys should be used for picking up/throwing weapons. I loved when enemies hit their pals accidentally. Randomness: 6/10, as it was approved in the description *each journey is unique*, the game has templates for each room, each room generates sub-rooms' content (loot and enemies), these templates also rotates randomly what I like. But I got bored replaying one room for many times. However the game is good for speed-running with learning each room by heart Difficulty: 10/10 yes, the game is justifiably difficult and fun Amount of bugs: 6/10, there are many bugs like weapons go out off rooms and enemies stuck in walls (maybe this does the game more playable because some enemies feel imbalance) Overall: really unique Roguelike game. I recommend it for everyone, even for casual gamers
Infinity Castle Dungeon offers a captivating and distinctive roguelike experience. The procedurally generated infinite castle guarantees that each run is unique, keeping every session fresh and exhilarating. The hardcore, one-life system raises the stakes, ensuring that every move and battle is significant. What truly sets the game apart is its ability to immerse players in a brutal yet rewarding world. The procedurally generated levels not only add variety but also keep you constantly adapting and thinking on your feet with each new area you encounter. If you’re seeking a game that pushes you to your limits while offering endless adventures, Infinity Castle Dungeon delivers in abundance.
After hour of playing, i can say that this game has hi-dynamic fights, interesting secret rooms, complex traps and enough variations of enemies and weapons. I really enjoyed that hour i spend for playing) Lately will try to pass 3 lvl. In the end i want to say that the game is complicated, so if you like this type of games - playing it will give to u a lot of emotions and pleasure) GL ALL
Infinity Castle Dungeon is a dungeon crawling roguelike and though it has some good to it I really can’t say that I can recommend it. The critical issue this game has is that it just feels clunky to play. I disliked how slow the weapons wind up felt, how annoying it was to work with weapon ranges, how when ending movement you slide a bit with your momentum, and the fact that fighting more than 2 enemies increased your chance of death significantly which was just a pain to deal with. Let me put a couple of these things together to show how this all adds up. You have a room with 3 enemies and you need to fight them to get to one of the chests in the back with the floor key you go into the room and go forward to fight them. They ball up super close together and are constantly switching the hand that their weapons are in (as they always do if you are not quite in range). You go in to stab and because you have a slight slide and have to time your wind-up right you move in and miss, but at least they hit each other (a saving grace really). You go in again and though you get a hit with both of your weapons you are too close because of the slight slide and the fact that all of the enemies (and yourself as well) attack so fast you get hit. Two of them die because they were killed by the others and then you get the kill after that by timing the tight gap properly but it feels more like luck than skill. You are low health because even if you failed this floor before, it respawns you with the health you had when you first arrived, hopefully, one of the chests will have a potion so that you can heal back to where you were at least. You open the first chest, but not really, it is a mimic with a dagger and you get stabbed in the very short window it takes for you to notice and then you die, you respawn at half health like when you first came to this floor and try again. I got better at handling these kinds of things; killing mimics, dodging enemies, and timing attacks, but in the end, my strategy was not to fight and only do so in the rooms with keys in them or where loot was easy to grab which is a bit of a letdown. Generally fighting in this game sucks, it is too quick to be a methodical dance of combat as you would see in a souls-like, but your movement is too slippery to make it a tight and fast timing-based combat system. Other complaints include that the initial inventory feels a bit small, equipment should either be able to be equipped or smaller in size, the dash is too large of a distance for combat and always puts me in odd positions because many of the rooms were tighter than would benefit from the dash (however it was often an okay distance for navigating some traps and bosses to be fair), the weapon durability is annoying, throwing weapons is cool but generally worse than just melee attacking, the secrets are not that secret just look for cracks in the walls, and you have to deposit all stones to fight the final boss all at once or else they are just gone forever. Beyond that the “infinity” part of the name quickly proved itself to be a bit of a misnomer, I swiftly ran into repetitive map portions within a handful of runs in the first level, and that never changes. Yeah, you can keep on playing as long as you would like, but I got bored quickly and just stuck around to get a more appropriate feel for a review. I had several glitches as well, one where sometimes I left the game and came back it would start me in a void, when putting the stones into the circle thing to get to the final boss if you did not have all of them it would have them just stay on the screen, when you attack with both weapons at the same time the game appears to stutter slightly, and all of the control bindings in the menu read “Effects Volume” and nothing else. On a positive note, I like the bosses; I think they are well-designed, and as far as how the combat plays it is where the game feels the best. In a boss fight the slower attacks with clear choreographing create a better flow to combat and the range of your weapons makes more sense. However, it did not take me too long to get repeats of those as well. Yeah, I cannot say I am too happy about the gameplay. I guess the game kind of has a story, but it is just set dressing. Games like this do not need a story and that is fine so I have nothing to say. The sound design is weak, but not terrible. The music is fine and to some level fitting, but it just doesn’t seem quite right to me, is quite simple, and lacks variety. The sound effects are really basic and the repetitiveness will wear you down quickly. I also find it odd that the stabs have no audio feedback which would help people like me who take in auditory information faster than visual information (although I am sure it would be annoying with large groups of enemies). So, I am not impressed but it is serviceable. As for the art, I think that the simplicity of the game is not bad actually. I like simplicity in a game like this, it conveys information quickly. The bosses do not fit in with that though as they are quite detailed, which could be seen as good or bad depending on your preference. I do think that although the simplicity is nice the lack of color on the map and between floors is a letdown. I like the whole D&D dry-erase mat feeling, but it is bland. Honestly, different colors between certain floors (combat, trap, home, and boss) would add a bit to the game and the anything behind wall could have more color alternatively perhaps like you have D&D tile squares down. It doesn’t matter though; I just think some more color would be nice, but the clarity has to stay through that color palette or else it detracts from the game. Overall, I cannot say that I enjoyed my time with this game. I probably sounded overly negative explaining the issues I had with gameplay but it all kind of works; there were a couple of fights that felt good, and sometimes things clicked a bit, but it just missed things a bit in a ton of spots. Only the map generation is really bad in my opinion, but as a whole, everything else is bad because of all the smaller failings coming together. It is better than some other games I have been given to curate, this one is completely functional and well thought out. Looking at the reviews I am in the minority, so maybe it is just not for me. Alternatively, I have spent more time on it than others; apparently, I am number 18 for total floors cleared at the time of writing which is kind of wild. But I never did fight the final boss, whether through bad luck or something in the programming, I never could find all of the stones. All things said and done though I am glad the developer gave me a chance to try their game, it is an interesting project and if any further patches are added it could be in a far better state. But as it stands, I just can’t recommend this game.
I really liked the game. The idea and mechanics of the game are very interesting. With each level the difficulty of the game increases and this has its own charm. The dynamics of the game, the music is also pleasant for the player.
I really liked the game, I completed 100+ levels and took first place in the leaderboard. It reminds me of Moonlighter. At this stage, the game needs more testing, polish, and bug fixes. I also want more content so that after 5 hours of playing, you become a pro who knows everything. Thanks to the developer for this great time.
I love indie games and accidentally stumbled upon this game on Steam. It looks nice, it plays nice, it's a pleasure to spend time in it. Thanks to the author for his efforts.
