About
Humanity finally made it to the stars, only to realise we were late to the party.
Memories of the Discovery War still linger. Now, under a fragile interstellar peace, Humanity sits at the table of the Concordat, surrounded by allies who may not have our best interests at heart.
But we're not as weak as we seem. Thanks to the secret Mah'Abeu project, we have you.
Infinite Stars is a massive, choice-driven sci-fi romance visual novel inspired by the scale and worldbuilding of Dune, the character-driven heart of Mass Effect, and the grounded scifi and political tension of The Expanse.

Infinite Stars is an evolving sci-fi interactive novel, told from two perspectives.
In the first, you step into the souls of the crew of the UIC Tabitha, a long-range cruiser operating in the outer sectors of space. Guided by your choices, these women and men are navigating political intrigue, personal loss, alien agendas, and each other. Their stories are messy, funny, heartbreaking, and undeniably human.
In the second, you are a Mah'Abeu. A figure of power and mystery whose true nature is slowly revealed across episodes.
Who are you, really?
That depends entirely on the choices you make.
Together, these two threads weave a story that asks a deceptively simple question: what does it actually mean to be human?

Infinite Stars features a diverse cast, and each character feels and acts like the protagonist of their own story.
Lebeny: The optimistic botanist finding beauty in loss.
Raymond: The stoic Captain with a fatherly heart.
Khalil: The unit of a security officer with a troubled past.
Matthias: The shy engineer genius looking for a place to belong.
Mayvheen: The younger sister yearning to step out of the shadow.
Veera: The ex-Assault Marine with wounds that run deep.
Kiaria: The brilliant, icy doctor coping with betrayal.
Lochem: The noble Commander wrestling with questions.
And many more, waiting to be befriended, romanced, challenged, or kept at a careful professional distance. It's your call, Mah'Abeu.

You shape your Mah'Abeu from the ground up.
Who are you?
Confident and flirtatious, optimistic about the universe? Diplomatic, measured, someone who always tells the truth? Quick with a snarky comeback, loyal to the bone? Something else entirely?
Tell your story across 250,000+ words and 1,000+ possible choices, growing with each new episode.
Your decisions ripple outwards. You change, your relationships change, and the world around you changes. No two playthroughs are quite the same.

A rich, expanding sci-fi narrative told across multiple episodes, seasoned with mystery, action, politics, dread, and romance, all woven together.
Deep character customisation. Choose your pronouns, personality traits, history, and how you navigate every encounter and relationship.
Slice-of-life moments between episodes where you explore the Tabitha and your surroundings, deepen bonds, and breathe in a meticulously crafted world.
Holo-Reality Modules or player-created story content you can create, install, play, and share, letting the universe expand beyond the main episodes.
Morally complex alien politics, diverse characters, and a world that rewards players who pay attention.

I enjoy the game and probably would Steam-purchase the adult upgrade -- but not a Patreon subscription. It's disappointing to know there's content that's hidden without ongoing payments. So, caveat: "Free" isn't entirely free.
As an older Gay man, my experience with "Infinite Stars" has been nothing short of delightful and deeply meaningful. From the very beginning, I was drawn into a world where my character could authentically reflect who I am, and that sense of representation resonated with me throughout the entire interactive novel. The storyline of "Infinite Stars" is a captivating blend of mystery, action, and romance, masterfully told from two perspectives. I was not merely an observer but an active participant, guiding the other characters' choices and immersing myself in the intricacies of their lives. This unique approach allowed me to form authentic connections with the characters, forging bonds that echoed my experiences in real life. James, the solo developer from South Africa, has truly poured his heart and soul into this game. The attention to detail, the diversity, and the richness of the narrative demonstrate his commitment to creating a game that resonates with players on a profound level. I was touched by the multicultural team he assembled to bring the story to life, a reflection of the power of collaboration and diversity. What truly set "Infinite Stars" apart for me was the depth of the choices offered. As a Mah'Abeu, a genetically enhanced subspecies of Humans, my character grappled with complex ethical decisions, much like I do in my daily life. The game highlighted how our actions and moods impact those around us, serving as a powerful reminder of the ripple effects of our choices. As the story unfolded, I found myself confronting my own fears and anxieties, much like the challenges faced by my character aboard the Tabitha. The experience of facing seemingly impossible odds and remaining resilient in the face of uncertainty struck a chord deep within me, evoking memories of my own life's struggles. "Infinite Stars" allowed me to embrace my identity fully, reminding me of the importance of being true to oneself. The representation of diverse characters and the exploration of humanity's complexities resonated with me as an older Gay man. The relationships formed and the emotional depth of the story were both moving and profound. In conclusion, "Infinite Stars" is a game that transcends the boundaries of interactive storytelling. It is a journey of self-discovery, empathy, and resilience, leaving players with a sense of fulfillment and empowerment. For anyone seeking a heartfelt, immersive, and inclusive experience, I wholeheartedly recommend "Infinite Stars" - a game that made me feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Thank you, James, for creating a game that has enriched my life in so many ways. The memories and connections formed within "Infinite Stars" will stay with me forever.

What, why is this free?! This surpasses all of the payed visual novels I have been trying to read through lately. 8h in and I'm loving this. Hell, I don't even need the adult content to enjoy this. I can't wait for the full release! Pros: 1. sci-fi, like mass effect :D 2. so far the story is good and engaging 3. there is a cute cat 4. romance! Cons: 1. not ready yet/ still in dev 2. the adult content is behind patreon support, so if ya here for spicy scenes or smt this might not be the game
Had it playing on auto in the background while playing other games.

I don't usually write reviews, I'm very... fussy and selective about the stories I read for pleasure. Infinite Stars is among the top five of my favorite vn’s and it’s the only vn I support on patron. I got the game on Feb 11th, and I have read it at least once, every other day or so. The mc customization is great, choices throughout the story define mc’s personality and profile, the characters (crew members) are well developed, the artwork is really good, the story flows awesome, and the dev team are fantastic. The patron content is well worth it also. Plus, in the discord everyone chats like family, and Wraiith is there daily (the man never gets a break, seriously) to answer questions, fix things, and he even acts human; he may be the AI that runs the ship though! Now for the cons. I dislike the cat. That’s MY con, so live with it since I have to live with this cat other people adore.
Просто ужасно кривая рисовка.
Haven't finished playing yet, but I love the interactivity of the story and the sci-fi worldbuilding. The art is pleasant enough, and I keep noticing little details the longer I look at it. Some of the dialogue and characterisation isn't quite my cup of tea - I'd expect more professionalism from people in these positions - but there are also stronger scenes that have balanced it out for me. Minor nitpick is the (extremely prolonged) scene where we hear a character breathing inside their suit. Absolutely hell for my misophonia - had to turn the sound off for that part. There are also a few other scenes where I found the sound effects annoying/intrusive. That might just be a me problem, though. Overall, I'm enjoying it.
having a lot of fun so far, excited for more content :) i really like the personality development system, and the characters are all fun to hang out with
Wonderful characters and an exciting story. The writing is top notch as is the art. If you are a fan of sci-fi or just a fan of VN, then this is for you. I can not recommend it more.
