Steam's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UI deleted my review before I could post it, I'm not bothering to retype it. If you want a boring ass time waster because your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC can't run HOI4, this is the game for you.

I will give this a VERY tentative thumbs up; however, to maintain the positive rating, it needs to be finished into something much better than it is now. I wish there was a neutral rating as that is what I would rate it right now. It is basically a click-fest for 1-3 hours and you CANNOT possibly lose at this stage of development unless you colonized a territory in the beginning of the game and spend all your money on influence infrastructure improvements instead of gold generating resource improvements. TLDR Version..... As other reviewers have stated, at this point as an "Early Access" game, it is little more than just clicking boxes for a couple of hours and win the game. I understand that it is still in early access; however, they have another title set to release in about a week from now(July 31st, 2018) based in India instead of Africa, so I have questions about whether they are going to finish this game or not. There are game elements that are present right now that do not seem to have ANY use with the game as it currently stands which suggests they plan to further develop the game. Will they finish it? Who knows? I hope so. It still needs some polish in many areas like highlighting the territory that you are currently looking at, adding a save game option, have some visual indication like maybe a symbol or color code for countries with development activity or in different stages of development, etc. I hope that if they finish the game, it will be much better with some depth. As the game stands right now, you almost CANNOT LOSE. You literally just click boxes and either explore/colonize empty territories or use diplomatic currency to "demand" a territory, or finally, to fund an attack with gold to take a territory away from it's current owner; however, there are currently NO consequences for attacking a territory controlled by a different "Great Power" or even from native peoples. To generate the currency and influence, you invest in infrastructure in each territory. By building a Church, Hospital, School, Theatre, Railroad, and a Fort. All of those structures can only be built in a territory once and begin to generate influence points once built. The resource exploitation such as a diamond/gold mine, quarry, or plantations, etc. generate gold to use to explore, or buy more territories, further develop your infrastructure in your territories, or fund attacks on territories owned by someone else. If they indeed finish this game, it might well be a good game. I guess time will tell. Right now, it is okay for a mindless "activity" to burn some time on. It is little more than something to keep yourself busy with for a bit of time. I would not even consider paying full price for it. I think I bought it at 50% off at the Summer Sale and for what I got, it was still overpriced. Frankly, as it is right now, I would not even consider paying more than $3 in its current state and ONLY if you are well aware of what you are getting in it's current state of development.

I can't believe they took this game from steam. It was the single best product in the known universe with absolutely no problems. Take my word for it.
trash game with no tutorial
good game but needs fixes for late game
