Great little idler! I enjoy playing this one while I wait for Claude Code at work

Does not run (tried 10x), tried everything. oy well....

very cool game Nothing necessarily innovative. Henk, I was even going to pass on this game, but for some reason I keep checking on it. Surprisingly good slow burn dopamine hits. Not much to say other than it does a decent job at what it is supposed to do, despite potentially off-putting initial impressions. Not a big fan of the in-game cash shop, but that's gaming in 2026 now. The "full game" is 6.99 USD, might be worth it, but I'm one of those gamers that would rather seek the thrill of a discount. If the dev does a discount in the near future then I'd probably bite. Overall, good main/side game, plays well in the background when it's time to hop on Fortnite with the squad and has enough levers to pull making it easier to keep busy while the game has your attention (at least 30 hours in). Surprisingly enjoyable, free-to-play if you'd rather, and hopefully will keep my interest for many more days to come.

Idle Iktah is an idle role-playing game developed and published by Grounded Games that proves the genre still has room for creativity. Instead of transporting players to a generic fantasy kingdom filled with dragons and castles, it takes inspiration from the landscapes and culture of the Pacific Northwest. The result is a surprisingly cozy experience where progression is built around everyday activities such as fishing, woodcutting, mining, and crafting. At first glance, it may appear to be another numbers-driven idle title, but beneath its simple presentation lies a remarkably deep progression system that steadily reveals itself over dozens of hours. The game's structure revolves around 18 interconnected skills that feed into one another. Gathering resources opens the door to crafting better equipment, which in turn improves efficiency in combat and exploration. Every action contributes toward long-term advancement, giving players a constant sense of accomplishment. The pacing is handled exceptionally well, introducing fresh mechanics at regular intervals so that the experience rarely becomes stagnant. Work orders, quests, unlockable regions, and hidden discoveries ensure there is always another objective waiting around the corner. Even when the game is closed, offline progression continues to reward players, making Idle Iktah ideal for those who prefer checking in periodically throughout the day rather than dedicating hours in a single sitting. What truly distinguishes Idle Iktah from many of its contemporaries is its attention to environmental detail. The Pacific Northwest setting influences gameplay in meaningful ways, with regional wildlife, plants, and changing conditions becoming part of the overall experience. Features such as moon phases and tide tracking add subtle layers of immersion that make the world feel more alive. Combined with colorful pixel art and a calm soundtrack, the game creates a relaxing atmosphere that complements its incremental design. There is a sense of warmth throughout the entire presentation, giving players the impression that they are building a life rather than simply optimizing statistics. Depth is another area where Idle Iktah excels. The game gradually introduces systems that extend beyond traditional idle mechanics, including prestige elements, roguelite-inspired progression, minigames, and challenging encounters.
