Idle Earth isn't really a proper game, it's just a lazy 2D browser/Flash-tier "number incrementer" mobile app where the object of the mobile app is to increase the in-game currency by clicking, and sometimes buying things that increase the rate at which your currency/score goes up. It's an incredibly shallow game loop, to the point you might as well just run a program that does "i=i+1; print i" and watch the numbers go up automatically, and just watch it. You'd get the exact same outcome. If this sounds completely mindless, you're not wrong. From a technical perspective, the mobile app doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the mobile app is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the mobile app, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the mobile app, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $2 USD, on app stores, it's free. Disgustingly, you need to pay another $1 to increase the rate of your number incrementing. After you already paid $2 USD for a free mobile app. There's a special place in hell for mobile devs. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers. Because this can be played free elsewhere, and because of the other defects, it's impossible to recommend. Who do they think we are?
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this mobile app as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the mobile app (to date). Until this status changes, this mobile app will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this free mobile app.

Im Großen und Ganzen ist es ein kleines Idle game indem das Warten sehr schnell sehr lang werden kann. Lohnt sich nicht.

Idle Earth is a clicker and incremental game that wears its influences proudly, mixing humor, a cast of quirky characters, and a parade of pop culture references. At its best, the game is a decent time-killer that nudges you along at a decent pace early on, providing enough upgrades and mini-games via different managers to keep boredom at bay. You don’t need to spend premium currency to make decent progress, and most of the clicking involves more than just mashing the same button, which helps it from becoming pure busywork. However, the experience is uneven. For a paid title—even a very cheap one—it leans heavily on mechanics that many free idle games pull off with more flair and variety. The "prestige" system is forgettable, as the income boost barely justifies the reset, leaving you feeling like you're trading time for underwhelming rewards. The game also includes loot boxes and microtransactions, which is a sour note considering it isn’t free to begin with. If you find those practices off-putting in paid games, you’ll notice them here. Variety is another sore point. Despite the trove of referenced jokes and quirky managers, the actual content under the hood is linear and doesn’t evolve much in later stages. The progression starts slowing down quite early, shifting from engaging to grindy. Achievements, typically a fun side goal in clickers, include one that demands an almost absurd amount of idling—potentially over a month’s worth of background running just for a single unlock. It’s not a challenge so much as a test of patience (and your computer’s endurance). To be fair, Idle Earth offers some charm with its characters and the occasional clever reference, and it could be fun enough if picked up on a big sale or if you simply want something to poke at between other tasks. It can fill a lazy Sunday or a few hours on autopilot but don’t expect much depth, and be ready to move on once the novelty wears off. There are plenty of free idle games on Steam that offer similar or more refined experiences. Unless you find the humor and theme especially irresistible, Idle Earth is best for idle game fans looking for a quick, forgettable diversion, not a long-term addition to their lineup.
Nothing wrong with a trashy shallow idle/clicker game, and this is about what I'd expect from a $2 game. Take an hour or two on a lazy Sunday morning, cheat your way through most of it, and move on with your life and never think about it again. For that, this is fine. But to also throw microtransactions into something so shallow is just sad and is alone worth a thumbs down. Keep that for free mobile garbage.
Wonderfully addicting and engaging! I Reccomend this if you're a fan of incremental games. Lots of hilarious references and seemingly endless content
