Absolutely amazing game, so many easter eggs, and a very rich storyline. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a variety of content in one installation.
Warning: Asset Flip! "Horror Villa 恐怖撤锁" is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This godawfully bad Chinese Unreal Engine asset flip takes the usual first person horror game blueprint and a bunch of plagiarised assets to create what might be one of the worst horror adventure asset flips on Steam, and that's quite remarkable because there's literally thousands of these kinds of asset flips on the platform. This asset flip has you wander around some Unreal Marketplace environments looking for keys and running away from a jumpscare ghost, except it probably won't work because the "developer" doesn't know enough about how Unreal works to fix any of the bugs they introduced when trying to work out how to use someone else's game blueprint. They were charging money for this, by the way. So, "Horror Villa 恐怖撤锁" is partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Little, if anything in this game is the creation of the "developer". While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, it's also true they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Horror Villa 恐怖撤锁", and this kind of asset flipping never results in games that have quality or value for PC gamers. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just 30 minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $5 USD for this... that's right, they were trying to get YOUR money for someone else's Unreal assets. This is never okay. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.

I walked around for a long while without a sense of direction and was very confused. After finding the final key in the long hallway when you first enter and turn left into the last door to open, I didn't know where to go next. The jumpscares were okay and the mood-setting were decent, but the direction of the story sucked. I had to look at the steampage to see what to do next and saw people saying to press 'p' before being teleported to a racing game which has nothing to do with the actual game.
