Pros: - The graphics are decents. - The gameplay easy enough. - The characters are appealing; keep it on with the fan service, too many games are dead because they've censored everything (Snowbreak). - A S-rank is guaranteed after 100 pulls; even limited banners are easily obtainable, and the currency needed for summons is easy to get. Cons: - That same currency used for summoning is used for everything else (upgrading weapons, skills), so you have to make a choice: either save up to summon more characters or keep it all to upgrade a limited number of Vanguards. - Some Vanguards need a to be balanced - More costumes need sliders. Seriously.

Genuinely enjoying my time with Horizon Walker. Its the first gacha game I've played. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about without it trying to grab my wallet every 10 seconds. Thankfully, Horizon Walker is really F2P friendly and I'm honestly impressed with how much progress you can make without spending any money. There was a character I really wanted to get and she was disappearing from the "Easier to get" category so I spent like £3 to get her. Wish I got the weapon too now, but thems the breaks. Otherwise, the game showers you in resources, characters and progression items. Combat is fun and with a good party composition, you'll have a great time. I didn't realise until 25 hours in that there was an Auto Battle system for fights you'd steamroll. So if I didn't have any complaints by this point, I probably wouldn't. I do like the characters and their back stories too. The main story is servicable with some actual decent twists at certain points. The graphics are nice too, nothing ground breaking, but they definitely have effort put into them. There are only a handful of negatives, but these are mostly perferential. First, I wish there was controller support so I could play on my Steam Deck with less issues. Second, the PC UI needs to be scalable. At 4K the combat UI is HUGE and does get in the way with things you don't need to use. Third, there isn't a huge amount of voice lines. There is a lot of story so I can see why there isn't. But it would've been nice if the main story was voiced and side/companion quests not. Or vice versa. Fourth, the English translation is a bit ropey at times. Grammar mistakes, typos, misspellings, but I think it adds to the charm. Fifth, I would have liked some player character customisation as the 'Human God' to me just looks like a dweeb. Finally, you cannot play this with a VPN. Having to turn it off and on just to play is kinda annoying. Otherwise, I'm having fun with Horizon Walker and will continue to play off and on for the foreseeable.
