High On Life 2 is a fantastic game that learned from its mistakes from it predecessor. The only real flaws were the glitches when I bought it on release. Funniest was during the cult art with the mother and Lezduit (If you know you know) Otherwise a perfect game that even turns the haters of the first game into a fans of the world
The first game was the best. The second one just drags on. It's funny in some ways, but not as the first. If you want the copy of the game. Wait until I goes on sale.
Game is innovative, unique, hilarious, and still has yet to keep a dull moment last more than what seems like seconds. Constantly entertained with the background characters, in depth storylines and immersive universe created by these developers. 5/5 game
Had a blast with the game until the final boss fight. The platforming in this game is truly awful. The mechanics are buggy. Tether points and grinding frequently bug out and don't work. And what's the final boss fight? 10 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes of skateboarding down a hallway while dealing with garbage platforming mechanics that constantly ♥♥♥♥ the bed. Ending the game with such a crap fight soured the whole experience.
Still can’t have sex with Creature
This game is so much fun and it's truly a big step up from this first game. It plays like Turbo Overkill, Ultakill and Doom Eternal and has more personality than all of those. The humor in this game is top-notch and the dialog doesn't get annoying like it did in the original. The environments are really beautiful and expansive. The choices you make in the game will have differing results for the story as you progress, which is pretty unusual for a movement shooter like this. The puzzle and platforming sections are fun and not frustrating. ....and one of the best things about this game is the music. The psychedelic, beautiful and weirdly funky score from TOBACCO is such wonderfully appropriate music for the game but it doubles as a really great instrumental album. I can't stop listening to it. 9/10
While this review may come across as negative, my hesitation to recommend the game right now is entirely due to the sheer number of bugs. It simply should not have been released in its current state and clearly needed at least another month of QA testing. Nearly every time I jump in, I encounter some kind of bug that prevents progression. Most of the time, restarting from the last checkpoint fixes the issue—but that doesn’t excuse the problem. That said, once you look past the overwhelming amount of bugs, the core of the game is solid. The characters, story, and overall tone stay true to the original. The foul‑mouthed humor is still hilarious, and at times it genuinely feels like the developers were recording their wildest thoughts after smoking the really good stuff, judging by some of the imaginative content on display. If these bugs are ever fully resolved, this game would easily earn an 8.754/10. As it stands right now, however, it sits closer to a 4.634/10. Visually, the graphics are great—when everything is actually working. The skateboarding segments are just okay, but that’s more a matter of personal taste. The music was annoying enough that I had to turn it way down. The dialogue, though, just like in the original, is what truly makes this game shine. Note: Game is very short....Ending was not that exciting. Felt rushed. I'd wait until a sale (at least 20%), not worth the price tag.
good game alot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun
unoptimized ♥♥♥♥, having a decent mid-high end rig doesn't save you from this nightmare. and the comedy/♥♥♥♥ making you laugh is nowhere to be found from the goated original. overall - an extreme disappointment. wouldnt recommend to anyone.
Wow. I've so rarely played a game from any genre that had as many memorable moments that this game had for me. Every mainline quest, almost every side quest was a blast! Every thing you do that leads up to each boss fight has such interesting and fun moment! That being said, this game does have a few issues. I had to restart multiple missions and one boss fight several times, either because the dialog prompts never activated, or in the boss fight with Muppy Doo, he teleported outside the arena several times, leaving me unable to finish the fight. Other glitches included important NPCs disappearing during dialog sessions, or stopping in the middle of their conversations for no reason. The only issue I had with the story of the game, was the lack of any real explanation of what happened to Kenny from the first game. Yes, I know the issue with the man that voiced him, but to basically not mention anything at all past a museum exhibit is annoying. All these issues to me were small, and didn't take away anything from the game. highly recommend this game! One of the most unique FPS games I've ever played!
