Deep in an old forgotten laboratory, a failed experiment reboots from its sleep. With no memories, it now must explore the many different areas of the extensive complex with the help of an AI called MUSE. Will it find the light of redemption it longs for, or will it find a dark and terrible truth?

HereAfter is an abandoned Early Access 2D retro pixel platformer slapped together badly with Unity. Gameplay consists of straightforward platforming with an "adventure" theme as you're supposed to unravel the mystery. Not the mystery of why you woke up in an abandoned lab, but the mystery of why Valve lets this abandoned Early Access shovelware remain to pollute the store after it's clearly never going to be finished. Controls are locked, and can't be changed or customised to improve the very poor control experience. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While the default Unity launcher provides what looks like customisable resolution, the developers override that and lock your resolution when the game launches, which is unacceptable. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. The game was abandoned by the developers around 2 years after launch, and hasn't been updated in around 3 years now. Despite this, the game is not truly free as the developers indicate an intention to charge money for this train wreck in future.

All I can say about this game is a mere "meh". Graphics are pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and there's not much to do in this game. It's cute and everything but not something that I would spend more than maybe 45 minutes playing at a time.

I hate this game. It probably might be the worst Steam game I actually played so far. Firstly it does show the controls but doesn't even consider making a tutorial to help you practice even a teeny bit. The trailer shown is much different than what you play here, I also thought of getting the game so I can have 100% on it too. Enemies which even the blue crawlers, being the weakest are annoying as you always have to duck at to shoot and kill it which having another different enemy makes it worse to fight them especially when it's a Flying Bones which is the flying monster with a skull and crouching won't let you move, not even slowly and just lets you only change directions. When almost going to the first boss entrance, the computer Muse actually notifies you the boss is ahead but doesn't let you acknowledge even one bit about the rusted spike, which is used in the first boss and just imagine if the player went ahead without getting the rusted spike. I was also confused and I just had to start over when I die and not a single damage landed on the boss. And of course the save file doesn't even work at all even when I press the actual button to submit, and after I went to the community hub to learn how to defeat it I got everything I had to know. I went on to kill the boss successfully, just to not even get the achievement which is to kill that exact first boss. The game basically just told you to "go ♥♥♥♥ yourself" without telling you to "go ♥♥♥♥ yourself," not to mention this game is abandoned and that was A SPIT ON MY FACE AND I FEEL INSULTED FOR IT. I'm absolutely gonna use SAM to get this achievement myself.
