This game reminds me of Pokemon and I always hated it growing up. After playing this game, I think I treated pokemon too harshly.

If you're considering giving this a try, note that this is Hentaimon: Prologue, so at a certain point it ends and you can't proceed further. Look to the proper Hentaimon game, also made by PinkySoul. The concept is fun, the execution is a mixed bag. The game is very grindy, and especially in the early game, you can't survive too many hits before you run out of HP, so you either spend your consumables or return home to heal. The latter is ideal, and if you know what you're doing you don't even need Potions - I played for over 12 hours and never used even one. Unlike the game that inspired this, you don't use a team with their own stats and levels. Instead, collecting new monster girls gives you new moves, and deepening your bond with them improves your stats - primarily your HP, but later you get boosts in other stats too. It's very grindy and you're gonna feel you're barely getting stronger, for a while, but eventually you hit a point when you can last for a while and clear an area before returning home to heal. And then soon after that, in the cave you can pick up the Heal skill. It actually lets you never heal at home anymore, if you fight weak enemies and keep them alive until you heal to full. It's too bad you get it late enough that the Prologue is almost over. Every team member you bring along gives you a new move you can use in battle - these moves have levels instead of the girls, and if you both level up the move and deepen your bond, then you might get an evolution quest. It's a neat idea, but the quests themselves are hit-or-miss, sometimes you play hide and seek but other times you're sent on a fetch quest or have to battle X enemies to complete it. Evolution is also the key to unlocking new moves, plus deepening your bond gives you stat boosts so you want to do that anyway. You can still access scenes with the pre-evo even after evolution too, so there's literally no reason to delay evolution once it becomes available. The story is nothing special, at least so far, and the maps remind me a lot of the gen one areas that inspired them, with only minor differences. Overall I think this game is worth playing, if you don't mind the grind and/or you like the art style and monster girl designs. Do consider the Hentaimon game over this Prologue though, so you don't have to start over from the beginning - I'm not sure your saves can be carried over, especially as new content gets added that has no equivalent in the Prologue.
