Game looks optimized now, get stable 80 fps with all on max/epic and lumen on (dlaa). 5070ti. Before i had to turn lots things to low and tottal resolution couple % down to get it sort of 70/80 fps. There is stil a lot of horendous pop in no mater the distance on random objects. the fog on all maps is really ugly and low quality. Other then that the game needs more content. classses are mid. factions are mid. pretty bare bone.
Good game that needs some tweaks and rebalancing
I haven't played too much of this game, but coming from a beginner perspective I can't really recommend this game. I understand that this game has an edge to it, and that the realism is what appeals to people. But that isn't part of my problem. The community of this game is one of whiniest most annoying community I've ever played with. It's a game where I feel all of the joy is sucked out because half of the lobby in every match seems to be complaining about ... SOMETHING. They say a core element of this game is communication, but people seem to use that to just whine in your ear all the time, it's why I just stopped communicating all together. Another big problem I have with this game is a rather subjective one. I feel the maps are just too large sometimes. I know they space them out to give more time in between objectives, but the problem is my frames are genuinely paying the toll, and on the lowest settings. Also I can't play the game in 1080p and fullscreen (I have a 1440p monitor). Another issue is I can't easily remap my keys, if you try to change a keybind and assign it to a key that is currently bound it just straight up doesn't allow you. You can't unbind keys either. Which is really confusing and frustrating for keys that have multiple functions. So I have an annoying lobby, low frames on lowest settings, and controls that I'm not comfortable with. And my last gripe with this game is that there's hardly any weapons. There's like 3 main guns for either side and that's it. I know the game hasn't been out for long, but it's a really bad first impression if you ask me. Rising Storm 2 has a ton of weapons and multiple factions. Overall I'd say the game has a lot of potential but it's really irritating to play sometimes. Because die and won't respawn for like 45 seconds then you'll probably have to walk like 400 meters, then get shot from some dude hiding in a bush, while your squad leader is complaining about how "no one is pushing the point." And yeah maybe it's a "skill issue." But with all the other stuff giving me every incentive to not play the game I'd say I don't care. It's just not fun, because of the community and because of the lack of content. And yeah I get why the whole "boots on the ground" can appeal to a TON of people, because it makes you feel like a grunt. And it appeals to me too, but given all of the other problems this game has, it's actually a negative atp.
Good
First off, the gameplay is fun 50% of the time. When squads are working together and people are communicating this is one of the best games. Unfortunately that is almost never the case. Second thing is how poor the game runs on my computer. I have a system that is better than recommended spec and a month after release I still have extreme stuttering that breaks any immersion I have, and the game feels basically unplayable. I hope they get the bugs ironed out but I am doubtful at this time. The experience I have had over my 50+ hours has been overall mixed. I would recommend the game most days, then I have a day like today where there is zero communication and the stuttering makes it not feel like it's worth my time. I have 300+ hours in the original game and at no point did I ever question if it was the game I wanted to play in my free time. This game makes me consider if it is worth it to boot up most days. Finally I think that this game at $40 is not worth it in its current and foreseeable state. I hope to see something more impressive than what the current roadmap has laid out considering the condition of the game one month in.
half baked game
Tons of fun with friends!
Keeps you engaged!!!
It's buggy and unpolished, but it's new and definitely shows potential so no big deal. What's intolerable is the constant crashing, I'd say every 2-3 rounds.
