I LOVE HELL LET LOOSE FRANCISE BUT THEY OWN IT AGAIN WHIT VIETNAS LOVE THIS
ptsd sim love it
I love this franchise. Hell Let Loose is THE game if you want something less arcade and more tactical. But this one, I simply can't play. I launch it, and minute after minute it gets uglier and uglier, the framerate dropping the whole time until I'm sitting at barely 20 FPS. On a HIGH END PC. This should not have been released. We're customers, not beta testers. If you have to pick one, go for Hell Let Loose, not Vietnam. As it is, it's unplayable and no fun at all. Shame, because there's infinite potential in this game. Right now it's just a waste.
This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing! Something special about crawling halfway across the map, and murdering GIs that really tickles my fancy. Gameplay is very solid, All mechanics feel fully fleshed out and functional. The A-Symmetrical battles add a lot to playing both sides, from the tunnels to the helicopters. The game is not as good as the first, however, that being said, this game is VERY early in it's development cycle. Its a bit odd they dropped it as a completed game, however, its still very much worth the fairly low price. We know the development will continue and keep the game fresh for years to come, if the first game was any point of reference. 10/10 recommend if you enjoy tactical shooters with a big scoop of realism. Has Potential I really like this game. I think the release was rushed, as there are still some pretty major bugs. That being said, there seem to be regular patches and the devs seem to be taking player feedback seriously. This is fun once you understand that it is not like other shooters - the time to kill is extremely quick and you have to be strategic. This can be a headache when new players are in your lobbies, but I find community servers do a good job pushing the skill ceiling higher. The one unfortunate aspect of the game that I hope gets addressed is the racism. Every game usually has players imitating Asian accents or making racist comments towards Asian people. In a 50 person team, it can be a headache to mute each player, but this is also an issue as the game relies so heavily on communication. Feels like nothing is being done about this at the moment. I love the franchise, but a lot of the players end up taking these bits way too far. It's not "just a game" when it's every lobby and multiple people. Devs, please show some initiative here. The guns, sound design, gamemodes, and overall feel of the game rock. In a few months this can be a really polished game. Still worth buying, but probably a better game to wishlist and buy at a lower price until the biggest bugs are sorted out
Needs work (especially for the console players), but it's a good romp. Needs more diversity in kit, and NVA needs some flair to differentiate in strategy. As it stands, this plays a lot like the last title, which is not a bad thing, but the theme is off. Use a mic and you'll have a good time, though.
Amazing game with no issues but have hopes theyll be addressed as the game was just released!
Game is fun. Morons that made it made it so it crashes more then real Vietnam helicopter pilots did.
To be blunt: this should be early access. It is little more than a stripped down synthesis of Rising Storm 2 and HLL. There is nothing that sets this apart in functional game mechanics than most copy & paste AAA shooters. The roadmap makes no mention of unique mechanics which make this war special in the gaming industry and history in general with its own unique aesthetics and setting. The current state does a injustice to the brutality of the war itself and those who fought in it. It's also just not as fun. Creative spike traps? Nope. White Phosphorus? No. Additional music and ambience content? Nuh-uh. I want to be able to spring makeshift traps on American soldiers and as an American be able to lay waste with the nation's most top-of-the-line chemical weapons. I want homemade and outdated weapons, ragtag loadouts, questionable explosives from the NVA if I'm paying $40 as a baseline and more for the deluxe version. Team17 should have just made a Korean War DLC with existing HLL assets than waste time on this. Maybe I was too spoiled by Rising Storm 2.
Enjoying it so far but it definitely has it's bugs - however it seems like they are being patched up relatively quickly.
