For veterans of Hell Let Loose, this game will be familiar. Fairly realistic shooting and movement, utilizing camoflage and stealth, and a combination of squad and platoon level teamwork. Rounds are long, but you get XP whether you finish or not. In this case lots of PC/Console player crossover. I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers add over time and how that changes the gameplay. Would recommend!
I can honestly say don't buy this until they fix BASIC UI for the game. The fact that I can join a lobby with my friends and click join server but it won't add ALL my friends to the server because every server only has a queue size of 6 is down right stupid design. So many times have we joined a server with 0/6 slots and suddenly when we hit join half of us didn't get in because the size of the queue is only for a single squad! Make server queues up to 50 people and don't let one single person join till their ENTIRE squad is loaded in. We've had people get stuck in a loading queue for upwards of 10 min while the rest of us got to play. The game itself is fun but holy crap actually getting into a match with a group of 6 friends is impossible. Also fix the NVA guns already the M16 is leagues better and the only gun I've found that can beat it on the NVA side is the knockoff PPSH-41. But you can't use that till level 8 as a grenadier so you almost have to max out the class just to have a good gun. Oh you also can't use the RPG or LAW rocket launcher till you level the grenadier class so good luck trying to actually take out armor your first few games as a grenadier.
Give this game 6-12 months, and it'll be good. It seems like the release was heavily rushed, and it shows in several ways. 1. Opting for a cinematic when using tunnels, instead of allowing the player to actually traverse through them. Clearly chose the lazy option on this one. It would be awesome to have to actually clear tunnels to destroy them when playing as the Americans. 2. No traps due to immorality? If that's really the reason, then this studio picked the wrong genre of games to make. What part of war is moral? Again, clearly they didn't add it in time for the release and picked the 'morality' scapegoat as a way to compensate. Please add an NVA sapper class that can create traps. 3. Performance is horrific. I don't understand how it can run as poorly as it does, given the studios experience with HLL WW2. Multiple optimization patches are going to be needed to get it to a stable point. Overall, an incredibly disappointing launch. They have a good base of a game that they could improve on, but I would not recommend buying it now. Wait until it goes on sale, or until they actually release the full game. As of now, it just feels like a DLC for HLL WW2 that they're almost charging full price for. It'd be a good idea to remember that you are a game developer, Expression Games, not an entertainment corporation. Listen to your player base when it tells you something is wrong, and you all can turn this ship around and have a Vietnam era mil-sim that you can be proud of.
A very obviously unfinished released, compromised by console mass-appeal attitude. Console players are demonstrably incapable of communicating, or understanding game mechanics of HLL, which is partially addressed by PC-only servers, but these are now very thin on the ground, meaning the only ones that aren't empty, are chocked full (or have very long VIP slots), making it impossible to find a game. A week or so after release and official servers seem to be mostly empty, which really isn't promising. I implore game developers to stop trying to take their PC-native games and try to appeal to mass market casual-ish console gamers for the sake of money; it would be easy to forgive if the game wasn't a buggy mess, with no perceivable difference between beta and release. This dev approach has ruined more than one game franchise, specifically because console platforms have much more restrictive content rules and have a markedly negative impact on graphic texture quality, because consoles are just low-grade PCs in a small form factor, so the whole game gets pulled down to pander to consoles.
yeah man
its a great game, it does not work for me on my RX 7900 XT idk what the issue is. ive tried to ai search the problem and ask around. Nothing has worked so far. i still get gpu crash dumps
Good Morning, Vietnam!
You people need to get real. This game is great. Hell Let Loose has always been a game that gets better and better as it evolves. The development team is somewhat small. I dont understand the bad reviews. Its worth what it costs, its an indie game, the gun play and movement are great. The sound design is great. Definitely recommend.
