This a truly exceptional game that I highly recommend. As a big fan of classic old school style gaming, I was delighted by the nostalgic feel of this title. With its challenging and engaging gameplay, players can enjoy countless thrilling hours of fun. The graphics are simply stunning and harken back to the glory days of retro gaming. Retrotainment Games has done an incredible job in creating this remarkable game, and it is without a doubt worthy of a five-star rating.

TLDR: This game is excellent if you liked games like Ghoul School or Monster Party on NES. Great art, cool levels, mechanics are above average for a small release like this. Well worth the buy. Everything about this game is good or better for the most part so I'll skip to my main gripe which is primarily aesthetic and more of a general appeal to quality: Indie game devs, PLEASE start asking for an editor to examine your writing. Then, get a second opinion from another one. This goes triple if English is a second language to you/your team and you want to release it to the English speaking market. The writing in this game's cutscenes ramble and would have been better summed up in a few Ninja Gaiden style dynamic panels with minimal expository dialogue. Editors! Even if the writing is a very small part of your game, it only helps your product to polish it up. If you can't afford an editor, ask me and I'll do it for free! That aside, buy this game!

Petit jeu sympathique pour les nostalgique de la console Nes (Vous pouvez justement commander une cartouche Nes du jeu sur le site du jeu ^^) Répond bien à une manette nouvelle génération et devient de plus en plus difficile en avançant dans les niveaux. Quelques bugs de collisions à déplorer, mais ça doit être fait exprès pour rendre le style authentique.

HAUNTED: Halloween '85 é um jogo de plataforma de ação lançado para o NES em 2015 - ao contrário da maioria dos jogos do gênero que tenta apenas emular os visuais e mecânicas retrôs, esse jogo foi realmente feito para ser jogado no console original e lançado em fitas homebrew de forma não licenciada. A versão que temos aqui na Steam não é uma emulação dessa ROM, mas sim um port feito na Unity pelo que eu entendi. Para quem gosta de jogos retrô, eu recomendo HAUNTED: Halloween '85, ele é ótimo para quem tiver uma ou duas horas livres e quiser entrar no clima do Halloween. O jogo não é perfeito, mas gostei bastante de sua temática.

This game looks like something straight out of Action 52, and not in a good way. Unlike other NES titles available on Steam, it doesn’t include a ROM for playing on original hardware. For that reason, I can't recommend it.

This game is pretty reminiscent of old NES horror games. It helps being that it literally is a game that can be played on the NES, and was developed for the NES, first, as a homebrew game. It reminds me of Zombies Ate my Neighbors, on the SNES, Ghoul School & Monster Party on the NES, or other similar games, where kids take on strange monsters, in schools or other places. The atmosphere and recreation of actual things, from real life, in NES form, is one of the great things about this one. The gameplay, while some platforming can rarely be nerve racking, is tight, as well as the controls, with excellent control and combat mechanics. Sadly, I wont be able to enjoy this on a live NES, on a CRT, where it likely looks its best. Still, its great to see ideas like this. Horror themes done on the NES, this way, work, really well. The rustic look works well, and I wish this kind of rusty cartoon look would be done in other places, as I've seen similar, outside this medium. There's something about it that's just interesting.

Even simple enemies are legitimate dangers and taking the time to grab every health pick-up or extra life you can ends up key to finishing the adventure, the looming threat of running out of continues tangible but the opportunities to avoid it abundant enough you have the room to figure out how to clear the game’s six levels. Boss battle composition is a bit all over the map in terms of difficulty and design, but the regular stages mix up their presentation and layouts so that this enjoyable Halloween journey doesn’t run out of steam.

Horrible game. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Bosses that leave the screen and never come back, so you have to reset and start over. Platforms that you fall through. Walls you can get stuck in. If you are wondering if this game closely resembles an original NES game, then the answer is yes, it does. Unfortunately the game it most closely resembles is The Cheetahmen.
