In late 2023, I drifted far away from a long-time friend. Right after that, I made another friend in my previous friend's absence. While I was bitter and angsty about my old friend. My new friend and I had many conversations about ourselves, childhood, and similar things. During those conversations, Halo came up, and we mentioned how we both grew up on the series. I, with Halo CE, and him with the rest of the series. The conversation stuck in both of our minds until we both came up with the idea to play through the series together on hardened. And we, in fact, did. While we were surface-level friends, throughout our playthrough of the games, we got a lot closer with each other, made offensive and personal jokes, shared more sensitive memories, and made lifelong memories neither of us will ever forget. He became my brother when it was all over. Thank you, 343 and Bungie, for creating such timeless masterpieces that can bring people together like it did us. And thank you, Gavin. For being my brother, despite it all. No matter the arguments we have or the times we may not talk to each other. I cherish this playthrough dearly. You and I will always move forward unto dawn.
